Police Seek Assistance in Identifying Assault Suspect

Hamilton Police are asking for public assistance in identifying a male responsible for assaulting a female inside her home.

On Friday, March 6, 2020, shortly after 1:00 p.m., police responded to an assault that occurred at a residence in the Meadowlands area in Ancaster. Once on scene, police located a 60-year-old female suffering from injuries caused by an unknown edged weapon. Information gathered at the time described the female being alone in the residence when a male knocked at the front door and once the female answered, he entered. A short time later an altercation ensued and the female was assaulted. The male was last seen fleeing the scene in a newer model grey, 2-door, Honda Civic.

The female was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

 

Detectives from the Hamilton Police Mountain Division Criminal Investigations Branch have continued to investigate this incident.

Police do not feel this was a random attack and believe there could be people in the community who have information that could assist with the investigation.
