Police Seek Assistance in Identifying Suspect Associated with Recent Stolen Auto

Hamilton Police seek the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect who committed two criminal acts over the weekend. Police have also established he is associated with a recent car robbery suspect.

On Saturday, March 14, 2020, shortly before 7:00 p.m., Hamilton Police responded to a report of a shop theft at the Shoppers Drug Mart located at 232 Cannon Street East. Witnesses at the scene informed the responding officers that a male entered the store and attended the cosmetic counter. After concealing several items he fled the store and was observed entering a stolen silver 2006 Toyota Matrix. The vehicle was last seen travelling south on West Avenue North.

On Sunday, March 15, 2020, shortly after 8:30 a.m. Hamilton Police responded to a report of a robbery outside a convenience store in the area of Main Street East and Sanford Avenue South. Moments before the incident, the victim was inside the convenience store where he obtained money from an ATM and purchased cigarettes. Once outside the store, he was approached from the rear by a male who stated he had a gun and demanded money. The male reached into the victim’s pocket and removed the cigarettes and an undisclosed amount of cash. The male then fled the area on foot. No firearm was seen.

No one was injured during both incidents.

Through continued investigation, police have established the male suspect is associated with the suspect in the recent car robbery of a silver Toyota Matrix.

Hamilton Police seek the public’s assistance in identifying the suspect involved in the two incidents.
