Police Seek Witnesses to East End Shooting Incident

Hamilton Police are asking witnesses to an east end shooting incident to come forward. The parties involved in the shooting fled prior to police arrival. Local hospitals have been checked for injuries related to gunfire with negative results. Hamilton Police continue to investigate. This is the second shooting incident for the year.

On Monday, January 14, 2019, shortly after 2:00 p.m., Hamilton Police received information gunshots were heard in the area of Brunswick Street and Melvin Avenue, Hamilton. The persons involved in the incident fled prior to police arrival. Once on scene police secured the immediate area as the investigation continued. HiIlcrest Elementary School and the Umbrella Family Care Centre went into Hold and Secure as a precaution during the investigation.

Hamilton Police have secured a black Subaru SUV and shell casings believed to be involved in the incident.

At this time police have no evidence to support anyone was injuries during this incident.

Hamilton Police believe a red sedan is related to the incident and it remains outstanding.

The investigation continues and police are appealing for witnesses to come forward and provide information.
