Quick Thinking Witness Rescues Baby on Roof

On August 8, 2018, shortly before 3:30 p.m., Hamilton Police attended the area of King Street East and Tisdale to assist with a young child standing outside on the second-floor roof of a home.

Police confirmed a citizen in the area ran inside the home and brought the child through the window to safety.

The child was inside his bedroom napping and squeezed out the window. Police are not investigating this as criminal.

Families are reminded to secure windows and doorways to ensure the safety of their children. It only takes a moment for a young child to put themselves in a dangerous situation.

Hamilton Police are thankful for the quick thinking actions of those who witnessed the incident, alerted the parents and quickly brought the child to safety.
