Hamilton Police Service is currently investigating a shooting that occurred on December 12, 2021, at about 4:20 a.m. in the area of James St S and Jackson St in Hamilton.  A lone male victim was asleep on the steps of St James Church when an unknown male suspect walked up to the victim and attacked him.  During the attack, the victim was shot in the shoulder.  The victim is currently being treated for non-life- threatening injuries. The suspect fled on foot and then jumped into a dark sedan waiting nearby.
