Shooting on Mohawk Road

Hamilton Police Service is investigating after a shooting took place near Mohawk Road and Upper James Street.

On Friday, October 2, 2020 just shortly after 1:00 p.m., Hamilton Police received reports of a motor vehicle collision. It was quickly determined that it was as a result of a shooting.

The victim was driving westbound down Mohawk Road when a car pulled up beside him and opened fire.

The victim’s vehicle subsequently collided head on with another vehicle that was travelling in the opposite direction.

The suspect vehicle then fled the scene.

The victim sustained serious but non-life threatening injuries and has been transported to hospital. The driver of the other vehicle has non-life threatening injuries.

It is early in the investigation but at this time, we believe we are looking for:

SUSPECT VEHICLE

  • White 4 door vehicle
  • Volkswagen
