Suspended Driver Arrested for Allegedly Trafficking Cocaine
On Thursday night Hamilton Police investigated a vehicle travelling at high rate of speed. Investigation revealed the driver’s licence was suspended. He was arrested and police subsequently learned he was in possession of illicit drugs. The driver was charged with several offences and appeared in court on Friday, October 12, 2018.
On Thursday, October 11, 2018, shortly before 8:30 p.m., police observed a Chevrolet Cruze travelling a high rate of speed, eastbound on Queenston Road from Strathearne Avenue, Hamilton. A traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle to address the issue of speeding. Through investigation, police learned the driver’s licence was currently suspended. The driver was subsequently arrested. During the process, police discovered he was in possession of cocaine and other items which are commonly carried by persons who traffic drugs.
The driver appeared at the John Sopinka Courthouse on Friday, October 12, 2018, to answer to the charges.
