Hamilton Police are investigating an armed robbery that took place at a local shop on the Hamilton Mountain.

On May 2, 2025 at approximately 9:15p.m., two suspects armed with handguns robbed Sparkle Cannabis located at 778 Concession Street, Hamilton ON.

Upon entering the store, the suspects began shouting at the employee and making demands. They were last seen running southbound on East 32nd Street. Officers are requesting homeowners and businesses in the area to please check their CCTV cameras for additional information that could help identify the pair.

Hamilton Police B.E.A.R. Unit is investigating a robbery that took place on March 21, 2025, at approximately 8:00 p.m. at the Dairy Queen located at 1205 Main St. East.

An unknown male suspect entered the store, pointed a silver handgun at staff, and fled with cash from the register to a waiting vehicle. No injuries were reported. The suspect and the firearm remain outstanding. The suspect is described as the following:

• Male, white with a heavy build
• Wearing a black hooded sweater, black jogging pants, black & white PUMA running shoes, black medical, black medical mask, black baseball hat, black cotton gloves
• Armed with a silver handgun

Over the course of this past week, Hamilton Police issued several media releases looking for the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect who had been committing commercial robberies with a firearm on the East Hamilton Mountain.

On Thursday, January 6, 2022 Hamilton Police were called to a commercial business in the area of Upper Ottawa Street and Mohawk Road East for reports of a male involved in an armed robbery. Police attended the area and were able to arrest 25-year-old Jesus MIRO. Through investigation MIRO was identified as the suspect involved in three additional robberies over the course of seven days.

A search warrant was conducted shortly after the arrest and the suspect now faces 46 criminal charges.
