                        <title>Arrest Made In Winona Tim Hortons Assault</title>

                        <guid>https://hamiltonpolice.on.ca/news/arrest-made-in-winona-tim-hortons-assault/</guid><pp:caseid>662026</pp:caseid><description><![CDATA[<p>Hamilton Police have arrested a 20-year-old male for a serious assault that took place in August.</p><p>On August 24, 2024, a man and his son were assaulted at the Tim Hortons located at 1242 Highway 8 in Stoney Creek. The incident began when the victims confronted a group of males in the parking lot after the group refused to lower their loud music, which was disturbing nearby homes.                         <title>Third Arrested in Stoney Creek Break and Enter Which Left Witness Injured</title>

                        <guid>https://hamiltonpolice.on.ca/news/third-arrested-in-stoney-creek-break-and-enter-which-left-witness-injured/</guid><pp:caseid>565175</pp:caseid><description><![CDATA[<p><span>Hamilton Police have arrested a third individual in relation to the Ezee Clean Car Wash Break and Enter which left a witness seriously injured.</span></p><p><span>On Sunday, February 5, 2023, shortly after 7:00 a.m., police received multiple calls of a large truck which had driven into the Ezee Clean Car Wash located at Highway 8 and Green Road in Stoney Creek.</span></p><p><span>During the incident, the suspects intentionally hit a witness with a pick-up truck causing the man to be seriously injured.&nbsp;</span></p><p><span style="background-color:rgb(249,249,249);">Police have identified and arrested a third involved individual as Louis Lavont Alexander, 55-years-of-age from Hamilton.</span></p><p><span>On Thursday, March 16, 2023, Hamilton Police arrested Louis Alexander and executed a search warrant at his residence.                         <guid>https://hamiltonpolice.on.ca/news/update-barton-street-shooting/</guid><pp:caseid>467225</pp:caseid><description><![CDATA[<p><span><span><span><span><span><span>Investigators from the Major Crime Unit continue to identify and interview persons who were present on July 28, 2021 when two men exchanged gun fire in the area of Barton Street East and Oak Avenue in Hamilton.</span></span></span></span></span></span></p><p><span><span><span><span><span><span><span>Investigators have obtained surveillance footage from various citizens and have used it, in conjunction with other techniques, to identify other persons present during the shooting incident.</span></span></span></span></span></span></span></p><p><span><span><span><span><span><span><span>Investigators continue to ask the public for assistance and are asking anyone with material information to come forward by either reporting to the Major Crime Unit or Crime Stoppers.                         <title>Central Hamilton Shooting Being Investigated by Major Crime</title>

He was transported to hospital with serious life threatening injuries.                         <guid>https://hamiltonpolice.on.ca/news/hamilton-police-lay-charges-for-attempt-murder-and-continue-to-investigate-latest-homicide/</guid><pp:caseid>423018</pp:caseid><description><![CDATA[<p>Hamilton Police have arrested a 38-year-old male for attempted murder after a serious assault in Hamilton left a woman seriously injured. Investigators are looking into a connection between the assault and Hamilton's most recent homicide.</p><p><span>On Monday, November 9,&nbsp;at approximately 6:30 p.m., Hamilton Police responded to the area of York Blvd and Queen St. North, for a street disturbance call. Upon police arrival, they found a 46-year-old female victim suffering from serious injuries. Divisional Detectives began their investigation into the assault which sent this woman to hospital with serious injuries.</span></p><p><span>Investigators have&nbsp;discovered&nbsp;that the victim was violently attacked with a large stick without provocation. The victim did not know her attacker and there was no known connection between the two. Detectives obtained video surveillance in the area and were able to obtain a description for area patrol units.</span></p><p><span>Later the same evening, police would respond to numerous disturbance calls where a male suspect was randomly attacking people in the city. This male suspect was eventually located and arrested by patrol units in the area of Jackson and MacNab St.</span></p><p><span>This male suspect was later identified by police and arrested for the attack on the 46 year-old female earlier in the evening.</span></p><p><span>At approximately 7:00 a.m. on&nbsp;November 10, witnesses located the lifeless body of&nbsp; 29-year-old&nbsp; Andrew Ainscow of Hamilton. He was located in an alleyway just west of James St. S. between Duke and Bold Streets. Ainscow was stabbed to death in the alleyway.</span></p><p><span>The Major Crime Unit was contacted shortly after 7:00 a.m. and took carriage of the homicide investigation. Homicide Investigators from the Major Crime Unit continue to investigate this homicide. During the course of the investigation, homicide detectives reviewed the incident at York and Queen St. with Divisional Detectives. After video was obtained, The Major Crime unit assumed carriage of this incident and have charged the following person with attempted murder:</span></p><ul><li><span>Keith Allan Overholt, 38-years-old of No Fixed Address</span></li></ul><p><span>Police continue to ask residents in the area to check their surveillance systems.                         <title>Serious Stabbing Incident on Bold Street</title>

<p><span><span><span><span><span><span><span>On July 29, 2020, shortly after 1:30 a.m., police attended an apartment disturbance at 123 Bold Street in Hamilton. Police located signs of a commotion and a large amount of blood but found no one&nbsp;inside.</span></span></span></span></span></span></span></p>

<p><span><span><span><span><span><span><span>Approximately 10 minutes later, a male with severe abdominal lacerations entered St. Joseph&rsquo;s Healthcare emergency room for medical treatment. He advised being stabbed by a friend during an altercation at his apartment on Bold Street, Hamilton. Police were&nbsp;at the hospital for an unrelated matter and obtained details of the assault from the victim. The victim confirmed the other male involved was also sitting in the hospital waiting&nbsp;for medical care.</span></span></span></span></span></span></span></p>

<p><span><span><span><span><span><span><span>Police spoke to&nbsp;the patient and evidence lead to the arrest of a 31-year-old male at the hospital. After police gathered all their related evidence Attempt Murder charges were&nbsp;laid.</span></span></span></span></span></span></span></p>

<p><span><span><span><span><span><span><span>The victim remains in hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect received minor injuries and remains in custody awaiting a bail hearing.</span></span></span></span></span></span></span></p>

                        <title>Serious Assault Upgraded to Attempt Murder</title>

The initial Aggravated Assault charge has been upgraded to Attempt Murder.</span></span></span></span></span></span></p>

<p><span><span><span><span><span><span>On Saturday, May 30, 2020, shortly before 9:00 p.m., an altercation occurred between two males in the Bottoms Up Bar & Grill parking lot on Barton Street East in Hamilton. A 32-year-old male received serious injuries to his face and neck by a knife. The assailant fled the scene on foot but was located several blocks away by uniform officers. At this time he was arrested and charged with Aggravated Assault, Weapons Offences and Breach of Probation.</span></span></span></span></span></span></p>

<p><span><span><span><span><span><span>The victim was located and transported to the hospital in serious condition.</span></span></span></span></span></span></p>

<p><span><span><span><span><span><span>On Monday, June 8, 2020, further evidence was received resulting in the case to be transferred to the Hamilton Police Major Crime Unit. The accused of No Fixed Address appeared in court by video on June 9, 2020, and charged with Attempt Murder. He remains in custody.</span></span></span></span></span></span></p>

<p><span><span><span><span><span><span>On June 10<sup>th</sup> and 11<sup>th</sup>, 2020, the City of Hamilton Public Works assisted police by recovering the weapon in a sewer area close by to the offence.</span></span></span></span></span></span></p>

                        <title>Hamilton Police Searching for Attempt Murder Witnesses</title>

<p>Shortly after 6 p.m. on Sunday, May 12, 2019, Hamilton Police responded to the Tim Hortons located at the intersection of Caroline Street South and King Street West for a person with a weapon. Divisional Detectives investigated and charged a 16-year-old male with numerous offences including multiple firearms-related offences and Attempted Murder. The investigation continues and police are searching for the following witnesses:</p>

<p><strong>Witness #1</strong></p>

<p>Male, dark hair, olive coloured jacket, blue jeans, brown shoes</p>

<p>This witness arrived on foot northbound on Caroline Street. He was standing at the Tim Hortons counter when the shot was fired.</p>

<p><strong>Witness #2 and #3</strong></p>

<p>Young female, red coat, pink purse, blue jeans, grey shoes (possibly Keds)</p>

<p>Young female, blue coat, blue jeans, white sneakers, backpack</p>

<p>These two young females had been dropped off together in a dark coloured four-door sedan and had been standing at the Tim Hortons counter when the shot was fired.</p>

<p><strong>Witness #4</strong></p>

<p>Adult female, olive green coat (yellow or white coloured stripe), blue jeans, black shoes</p>

<p>This woman was driving a dark coloured sedan. She stopped to talk to a male who had been standing outside of the Tim Hortons after the shot was fired. Investigators believe that she had been at Vida La Pita which is located beside the Tim Hortons.</p>
