                        <title>Dangerous Driving Charge Laid After Head-On Collision in Ancaster</title>

                        <guid>https://hamiltonpolice.on.ca/news/dangerous-driving-charge-laid-after-head-on-collision-in-ancaster/</guid><pp:caseid>637407</pp:caseid><description><![CDATA[<p><span>Hamilton Police have charged a Caledonia man in connection with a head-on collision in Ancaster that occurred this past February.</span></p><p style="margin-left:0in;"><span>On Tuesday, February 27, 2024, just before 4:45 p.m., Hamilton Police responded to the area of Trinity Road South and Butter Road West in the City of Hamilton after reports of a head-on collision.</span></p><p style="margin-left:0in;"><span>A white Hyundai Elantra sedan and a grey GMC Yukon Suburban were involved in the collision.&nbsp;</span></p><p><span>Following an investigation, Hamilton Police have identified the driver involved in the collision as a 36-year-old man from Caledonia, who was operating with a suspended licence.                         <title>Charges Laid in Train Collision</title>

                        <title>BB Gunshots Alarm Residents in Dundas Apartment</title>

                        <guid>https://hamiltonpolice.on.ca/news/bb-gun-shots-alarm-residents-in-dundas-apartment/</guid><pp:caseid>356062</pp:caseid><description><![CDATA[<p>Police responded to 40 McKay Road in Dundas to investigate&nbsp;gunshots being fired inside an apartment building.&nbsp;Police identified a male was&nbsp;discharging his BB gun inside his apartment.&nbsp; The male was charged under a&nbsp;City By-Law offence.&nbsp;</p>

<p>On August 29, 2019, shortly before 2:30 p.m., police responded to a Dundas apartment building to investigate shots fired. Police identified the apartment and spoke to the resident. The male was&nbsp;showing&nbsp;signs of alcohol use&nbsp;but did co-operate&nbsp;with police questioning. He confirmed he had several BB guns inside and assisted in their location. While Police was inside they located a BB handgun on the coffee and one on the kitchen table. There was also a large cardboard box with numerous BB holes and shells inside.&nbsp;</p>

<p>Police felt there were general concerns for safety and seized 15 replica BB guns from the residence.</p>

<p>The police did not have grounds to charge the resident criminally. However, the City By-law 19-114 - restricts the use of Discharging of Recreational Firearms&nbsp;within the City of Hamilton.</p>

<p>The 55-year-old Dundas man has been charged.</p>

<p>He has a scheduled court date for September 26, 2019, to answer to the charge.</p>

                        <title>UPDATE: Charge Laid Against GO Bus Driver </title>

<p>On March 9, 2019, shortly after 2:05 p.m., the Hamilton Police Service responded to a motor vehicle collision involving a GO bus and a pedestrian at the Hamilton GO Centre located at 36 Hunter Street East, Hamilton.</p>

<p>A GO Bus parked at the bus terminal began reversing from the parking location resulting in a collision occurring between the bus and an 84-year-old woman from Brantford. The pedestrian succumbed to their injuries. The Hamilton Collision Reconstruction Unit attended the location and continued with the investigation.</p>

<p>As a result of the investigation, the GO Bus Driver has been charged. He will appear in court on Wednesday, April 10, 2019.&nbsp;</p>

                        <title>Update:  Girlfriend Charged for Storing Loaded Handgun Inside Car</title>

<p>Hamilton Police have identified the involvement of a 2016 Nissan Altima. Police believe it was used to transport Tyrell Edwards-Lafleur and Noah Hope to and from the area of the Barton Street East shooting on February 22, 2019. The vehicle is registered to a 24-year-old Hamilton woman, who is the girlfriend of Tyrell Edwards-Lafleur.</p>

<p>A search warrant for the vehicle was granted and it was examined by the Hamilton Police Forensics Unit. A loaded 9mm handgun was located within a hidden compartment inside the vehicle.</p>

<p>As a result, <strong>Tyrell Edwards-Lafleur</strong> and <strong>Kendra Omega Davis</strong> will face the following firearm charges.</p>

<p><strong>Charges:</strong></p>

<li>Unauthorized possession of a firearm</li>
<li>Careless use (transportation, storage) of a firearm</li>
<li>Possession of a Firearm knowing its possession is unauthorized</li>
<li>Possession of a prohibited or restricted firearm with ammunition</li>
</ul>

<p>Edwards-Lafleur received an additional charge of Possession contrary to order.</p>

<p>Police are still receiving data and reviewing video surveillance footage. Additional charges may follow.</p>
