                        <guid>https://hamiltonpolice.on.ca/news/hamilton-police-investigating-fatal-motorcycle-collision-on-upper-paradise-road/</guid><pp:caseid>662597</pp:caseid><description><![CDATA[<p>Hamilton Police are seeking the community's assistance in gathering information related to a fatal motorcycle collision that occurred late last night.</p><p>On Wednesday, September 25, 2024, just after 11:00 p.m., Hamilton Police responded to a motor vehicle collision involving a motorcycle and a car on Upper Paradise Road near Lunner Avenue.</p><p>The investigation has revealed that a 37-year-old male from Hamilton was operating a Honda motorcycle northbound on Upper Paradise Road when he attempted to pass another northbound vehicle driven by a 40-year-old female from Hamilton. The motorcyclist struck the vehicle and was thrown from his motorcycle. He was transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.</p><p>The Collision Reconstruction Unit (CRU) attended the scene to investigate. We are seeking assistance from the public to gather information that may aid in the investigation.</p><p>On Wednesday, June 12, 2024, at approximately 8:15 p.m., a northbound bus, while turning left into the bus terminal from Upper James Street, was struck by a southbound motorcycle. The incident took place at the intersection entrance to the Hamilton Street Railway (HSR) bus terminal located at 2200 Upper James Street.</p><p>The eighteen-year-old male driver of the motorcycle was pronounced deceased at the scene. The sixty-one-year-old bus driver was uninjured, and there were no passengers on the bus at the time of the collision.</p><p>Hamilton Police Collision Reconstruction Unit continues to investigate this tragic incident. We urge any potential witnesses or individuals with information to come forward.                         <title>Police Investigate Single Vehicle Fatal Collision</title>

                        <guid>https://hamiltonpolice.on.ca/news/police-investigate-single-vehicle-fatal-collision/</guid><pp:caseid>626919</pp:caseid><description><![CDATA[<p><span>On Thursday, April 4, 2024, shortly after 5:00 p.m., Hamilton Police along with Emergency Services partners were called to Concession 5 East approximately 275 meters east of Robson Road, for a report of a 2023 Dodge Durango that left the roadway and struck a tree. &nbsp;</span></p><p><span>The driver of the Dodge, a 34-year-old female from Hamilton was transported to hospital but succumbed to her injuries shortly after arrival.&nbsp;</span></p><p><span>The HPS Collision Reconstruction Unit was called in and has taken carriage of the investigation.                         <title>Hamilton Police Make Arrest in Fatal Collision</title>

The occupants of the BMW, who sustained minor injuries, were transported to the hospital and subsequently released. Despite immediate lifesaving measures, the individual was transported to the hospital and later pronounced deceased. In addition, investigators identified a second vehicle, brown in colour, and two males in their 20s who were transported to the hospital, both remain in non-life threatening condition.</p><p style="margin-left:0px;text-align:start;">The circumstances surrounding this tragic collision are currently under investigation, with dedicated officers remaining at the scene to gather critical information.</p><p style="margin-left:0px;text-align:start;"><strong>Witness Appeal:</strong>&nbsp;<br>Hamilton Police are appealing to the community for assistance.                         <guid>https://hamiltonpolice.on.ca/news/hamilton-police-investigate-double-fatal-collision/</guid><pp:caseid>612011</pp:caseid><description><![CDATA[<p style="margin-left:0px;text-align:start;"><span style="margin:0px;padding:0px;">On Saturday, November 25, 2023, at approximately 11:30 p.m., Hamilton Police responded to a devastating two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Highland Road East and Tapleytown Road on the Stoney Creek Mountain.</span><br><span style="margin:0px;padding:0px;">The collision involved a 2013 Ford Flex carrying four occupants traveling northbound on Tapleytown Road. Tragically, the collision occurred when a 2022 Dodge Ram 1500, driven by a single male, struck the Ford. The collision resulted in the loss of two female passengers who were in the Ford, while the two male occupants sustained severe injuries and were taken to hospital. Presently, one male remains hospitalized in stable condition. Following the collision, the male driver of the Dodge Ram was located near the scene and is currently in police custody.</span></p><p style="margin-left:0px;text-align:start;"><span style="margin:0px;padding:0px;">The Hamilton Police Collision Reconstruction Unit continues to investigate this investigation. The cyclist was pronounced at the scene. The driver of the commercial motor vehicle remained at the scene and is co-operating with investigators.&nbsp;</span></p><p><span>The HPS Collision Reconstruction Unit was called in and has taken carriage of the investigation.                         <guid>https://hamiltonpolice.on.ca/news/update-police-arrest-drive-in-fatal-fail-to-remain/</guid><pp:caseid>570475</pp:caseid><description><![CDATA[<p><span>Hamilton Police Service have arrested a 44-year-old man of Hamilton in relation to a fatal Fail to Remain collision.</span></p><p><span>On Thursday April 13, 2023, shortly after 9:30p.m., a Yamaha motorcycle was northbound on Upper James Street approaching Twenty Road.&nbsp; The motorcycle, carrying a driver and a passenger, collided with a southbound Toyota SUV.</span></p><p><span>The passenger was thrown from the motorcycle and later pronounced dead in hospital.&nbsp; The motorcycle driver was transported to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries.                         <title>Driver Arrested in Overnight Double Fatal Collision</title>

As a result of the collision, two male passengers in one of the vehicles succumbed to their injuries. The vehicle's driver also suffered serious but non-life threatening injuries.</span></p><p><span>The driver of the other vehicle, a 20-year-old Hamilton male, was arrested for impaired operation causing death and is currently awaiting a bail hearing.</span></p><p><span>The HPS Collision Reconstruction Unit continues to investigate the motor vehicle collision. The Special Investigations Unit has also invoked their mandate.                         <title>Hamilton Police Investigate 16th Motor Vehicle Fatality of 2022</title>

                        <guid>https://hamiltonpolice.on.ca/news/hamilton-police-investigate-16th-motor-vehicle-fatality-of-2022/</guid><pp:caseid>532237</pp:caseid><description><![CDATA[<p><span>Hamilton Police are investigating a fatal motor vehicle collision involving a Yahama Majesty scooter and a pickup truck on Parkdale Avenue North near Burland Crescent in the City of Hamilton.&nbsp;</span></p><p><span>On Tuesday, September 13, 2022, just after 10 a.m., a 24-year-old Hamilton man was operating a 2003 Ford pickup truck northbound on Parkdale Avenue North at Burland Crescent.&nbsp; Simultaneously, a 70-year-old Hamilton male was operating a motorcycle scooter in the southbound lanes towards the same intersection. The driver then fled the scene. Hamilton Paramedics transported the male to the Hamilton General Hospital but the male succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival. Both vehicles came to rest in the drainage ditch along the north side of Highway #5.</span></span></span></p><p><span><span><span>The driver of the Honda vehicle, a 73-year-old woman from Hamilton, was transported to hospital with minor injuries.                         <title>Motorcyclist Suffers Fatal Injuries in Collision With a Motor Vehicle</title>

                        <guid>https://hamiltonpolice.on.ca/news/motorcyclist-suffers-fatal-injuries-in-collision-with-a-motor-vehicle/</guid><pp:caseid>457010</pp:caseid><description><![CDATA[<p><span><span><span><span><span>Hamilton Police are searching for a driver and possible passengers involved in a collision that killed a motorcyclist.</span></span></span></span></span></p><p><span><span><span><span><span>On Monday, May 17, 2021, shortly after 11:00 p.m., Hamilton Police and Hamilton Paramedics responded to Limeridge Road East, just west of Upper Kenilworth Avenue in the City of Hamilton for a motor vehicle collision between a yellow 2003 Kawasaki motorcycle and grey 2020 Hyundai Sonata.</span></span></span></span></span></p><p><span><span><span><span><span>Preliminary information indicates that a grey 2020 Hyundai Sonata was travelling eastbound on Limeridge Road East and began to conduct a U-Turn. The male motorcycle driver then struck the driver&rsquo;s side of the Hyundai and the motorcyclist became wedged under the vehicle. The Hyundai driver completed a U-Turn and continued westbound 100 metres with the motorcyclist dragging under the vehicle.</span></span></span></span></span></p><p><span><span><span><span><span>The driver and possible passengers of the Hyundai exited the vehicle and fled the scene.</span></span></span></span></span></p><p><span><span><span><span><span>Hamilton Paramedics, Hamilton Fire and Hamilton Police responded to the collision and the victim was pronounced dead on scene. At that time they were struck by a motor vehicle that was traveling southbound on Green Road.</span></span></span></span></p><p><span><span><span><span>The woman suffered serious injuries and was transported to hospital. She&nbsp;later recovered from her injuries. Hlias Kotsopoulos was dragged 100 metres southbound by the vehicle.</span></span></span></span></p><p><span><span><span><span>Unfortunately, his injuries were fatal and he died at the scene.</span></span></span></span></p><p><span><span><span><span>The vehicle continued southbound and fled the area.</span></span></span></span></p><p><span><span><span><span>The suspect vehicle is described as a dark SUV type of vehicle. It has a licence plate consisting of 4 letters followed by 3 numbers. The first letter of the licence plate is the letter &ldquo;B.&rdquo;</span></span></span></span></p><p><span><span><span><span>The vehicle was never located.</span></span></span></span></p><p><span><span><span><span>Investigators are requesting the public&rsquo;s assistance in this investigation. <p align="LEFT">On Monday, August 3rd, 2020, shortly after 1:00 am., a motorcycle travelling southbound on West 5th lost control just past Brantdale Ave, Hamilton. The rider, a 21-year-old male from Hamilton was operating a 2006 Honda motorcycle. When the rider lost control he mounted the curb and made contact with a pole. The impact caused fatal injuries.</p>

<p align="LEFT">The intersection was closed for several hours as officers processed the scene.</p>

<p align="LEFT">The Collision Reconstruction Unit is investigating this collision and at this time investigators have ruled out speed and impairment as factors.</p>

<p><span><span><span><span><span><span>The police investigation has determined the driver of the vehicle was not at fault and no other injuries reported.</span></span></span></span></span></span></p>

A 28-year-old male driver lost control of his vehicle and struck a metal guard rail on Miles Road south of English Church Road that resulted in fatal injuries.</span></span></span></span></span></span></span></p>

The Honda entered the intersection and collided with a 2011 Ford Escape travelling northbound on Nebo Road. The occupants from both vehicles were transported to the hospital with serious injuries.</span></span></span></span></span> <span><span><span><span>One female passenger in the Honda succumbed to her injuries.</span></span></span></span></span></span></span></span></p>

The single motor vehicle collision took place in the area of Woodhill Road and Concession 4 West in Flamborough.</p>

<p>The initial stages of the investigation found the man did not sustain a physical injury from the impact but died by electrocution after exiting his vehicle from&nbsp;down power hydro lines due to the&nbsp;collision. Reports recently received concluded speed, impairment as well as distracted driving were all contributing factors in this collision.</p>

<p>Hamilton Police would like to remind everyone to be extremely cautious near unknown downed wires. If you see a damaged or hanging powerlines, maintain a minimum distance of 10 meters and report it to the local utility services. If in a vehicle and an overhead power line drops on top of the vehicle, stay inside and call 9-1-1.</p>

                        <title>Binbrook Collision Takes the Life of Elderly Female</title>

A 2002 Honda Accord driven by a 72-year-old Hamilton man was travelling northbound on Highway 56 approaching Hall Road. At the same time, a 2011 GMC Sierra driven by a 40-year-old Hamilton man crossed Highway 56 in an eastbound direction from Hall Road when it was struck on its passenger side by the Honda.</p>

<p>The occupants of the GMC vehicle were unharmed and the Honda driver was transported to the hospital with minor injuries. A 72-year-old Hamilton woman who was a passenger in the Honda was injured during the collision. She was transported to the hospital by Hamilton Paramedic Service&nbsp;and later died of her injuries.</p>

<p>The Reconstruction Unit continues to investigate this collision. The driver of the GMC vehicle has been charged. Speed and impairment have been ruled out.</p>

<p>Police are not releasing any names at this time.</p>

                        <title>Hamilton Police Investigate Fatal Single-Vehicle Collision</title>

The lone occupant in the vehicle was deceased and Hamilton Police continue to investigate. At this time the death is believed to be non-suspicious.</p>

<p>On Wednesday, February 12, 2020, shortly after 8:30 p.m., a passerby noticed a vehicle in a field in the area of Book Road and Smith Road in Ancaster. Emergency Services responded and immediately secured the area. A lone male driver was found deceased in the vehicle. As a result of observations made by officers, the Major Crime Unit was called in to assist. Through further investigation, police believe the death to be non-suspicious.</p>

<p>The investigation has been turned over to the Collision Reconstruction Unit and the Mountain Division Criminal Investigation Branch.</p>

<p>The identity of the male is not being released at this time. A post mortem will be conducted later today.</p>
