Stolen Auto Investigation

Hamilton Police have arrested a 14-year-old after the discovery of a stolen auto over the weekend in Hamilton.

On Saturday, November 16, 2024 Hamilton Police officers were investigating a separate incident when they observed a suspicious vehicle in the area of Gage Park.

When the officers approached the vehicle to gather more details, the occupant of the vehicle fled on foot and a chase ensued. The suspect was quickly apprehended and officers learned that the individual was breaching three release orders in addition to possessing a stolen vehicle.

The young person – who cannot be named in accordance with the Youth Criminal Justice Act – now faces the following charges:

·         Possession over $5000.00

·         Fail to Comply Release Order x3

Vehicle thefts are an ongoing problem in the Hamilton area and the Hamilton Police Service is reminding the public to be mindful when leaving your vehicle for extended periods of time.

·         Always lock your vehicle doors and keep your keys in a safe place

·         Remember to remove high value items from plain sight

·         If possible, park in areas you know cameras and/or other community members to be

·         Never leave your vehicle unattended while idling

On Friday, December 2, 2022, at approximately 3:00 a.m., Hamilton Police responded to a shooting in the area of Campbell Avenue and Grosvenor Avenue North.

Hamilton Police can confirm a shooting incident occurred and that bullet casings were located in the area.

There were individuals within the residence at the time of the shooting and no one sustained any physical injuries.

This is being investigated as a targeted incident.

Division Two Criminal Investigation Branch is investigating this crime. Detectives are asking residents in the area to review their security surveillance cameras between the hours of 2:00 a.m. to 4:00 a.m. for any suspicious activity and to contact police.

Detectives are also asking if you were driving in the area and have dash camera footage that would be suitable for review please contact the investigators.

Hamilton Police are looking for a 34-year-old male fugitive, Trion Castello.

As a result of recent criminal investigations in Hamilton, Castello is wanted for multiple charges including the following;

• Assault Level 1
• Utter Threat Cause Death x3
• Criminal Harassment

CASTELLO is believed to be in the Toronto, Peel and Hamilton areas. If he is observed, police ask that members of the public call 9-1-1, do not approach.

Last year, up to 5,000 people gathered in the Westdale and Ainslie Woods neighbourhoods that resulted in property damage and several charges.

“Unsanctioned street gatherings are unsafe and result in unnecessary demands on all of our emergency services, including our hospitals,” says Superintendent Dave Hennick. “They are disruptive to the community and pose significant safety risks to those in attendance.”

In addition to police, Hamilton Fire, Hamilton Paramedics, By-law Officers, Parking enforcement officials and Special Constables from McMaster Security have all enhanced their staffing and presence to help keep the community and its residents safe.

Hamilton Police encourage everyone in the City of Hamilton to act as responsible citizens, be respectful of the community and not attend these unsanctioned gatherings.

Recently, the City of Hamilton passed a Nuisance Party Bylaw to address large unsanctioned gatherings that are or could become a public nuisance resulting in unreasonable noise, loud music, shouting, littering, damage or destruction or property, public drunkenness or disorderly conduct or several other factors. The bylaw makes it illegal to host, attend, permit, continue or refuse to leave an area, once it has been declared a nuisance.

In addition to fines and penalties, people who conduct or host nuisance parties may be liable for remedial costs for fees from first responders, and/or, municipal law enforcement officers and City of Hamilton for attending the scene.

The provincial Liquor Licence and Control Act also makes it an offence to be intoxicated in a public place or in common areas of residences with persons occupying more than one dwelling, such as an apartment building.

On Monday, July 12, 2021, at approximately 9:30 p.m., a mother and daughter were walking through a parking lot in a plaza in the Ancaster Meadowlands. An interaction occurred after a vehicle pulling out of a parking spot almost struck one of the victims.

The interaction escalated with the suspect uttering threats towards the victims while using slurs targeting the Muslim community.

The victims ran across the street and hid behind some bushes, while the suspect searched for them. He eventually located them and threatened to kill them. One of the victims ran screaming for help and witnesses intervened as the suspect fled the area.

The incident is being investigated as a hate crime.

Police are urging witnesses to these incidents to come forward and to contact Hamilton Police Division 3 Criminal Investigation Branch Acting Detective Sergeant Michael Hall at 905-546-3851.

MISSING PERSON

The Hamilton Police Service is looking for the assistance of the public in locating 79-year-old Rdoveje (Ray) Milosevic.

Rdoveje was last seen on Saturday October 24, 2020 shortly after 1:00 p.m. leaving the Hamilton General Hospital located at 237 Barton Street East, Hamilton. Rdoveje left the hospital on foot and he was using a brown/red rolling walker to assist in his mobility. Rdoveje was last seen wearing dark coloured pants and a light grey hooded sweatshirt with an unknown dark coloured logo on the front. He is described as a white male, 130 lbs., approximately 5’6”, with white / grey short, straight hair.

LATEST: Carol BRADSHAW was located & she is safe. 

Hamilton Police Service is looking for the public's assistance in locating 56-year-old Carol Bradshaw.

Bradshaw was last seen on Thursday, February 6, 2020, at approximately 5:00 p.m. in the area of Delaware Ave and St. Clair Blvd, Hamilton. Bradshaw is described as a white female, approximately 5’2”, heavyset, and weighs 180 lbs. She has no teeth. At the time she went missing, Bradshaw was only wearing a black sweater and dark coloured pants. She was not wearing a jacket and was not dressed for the inclement weather.

Bradshaw is believed to be on foot. She has health-related issues and it is important that she is located.
