Samson Dekamo, 27-years-of-age was arrested yesterday without incident by the Hamilton Police Homicide Unit. He will have a first appearance in court today at the John Sopinka Courthouse.

Dekamo is charged with one count of Adult Kidnapping.

On Thursday, September 16, 2021, at approximately 2:55 a.m., Hamilton Police were called to a Mount Hope residence for reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, police found two males in their 20s suffering from gunshot wounds. The males were transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries. Hasnain (Nano) Ali subsequently succumbed to his injuries, while his father, Faqir Ali, was forcibly taken from the home in a dark SUV. Mr. Ali was violently assaulted before he was found near Beach Boulevard in Hamilton.

Investigators have now arrested 25-year-old John Bartley and 35-year-old Gino McCall of Hamilton with the first degree murder of Hasnain (Nano) Ali, attempted murder, kidnapping and aggravated assault in relation to this incident.

Both individuals were arrested in the City of Hamilton without incident on Wednesday, August 31, 2022 by the Homicide Unit. They will have brief appearances in court today.

The first vehicle was found shortly before 9:00 a.m. on Beach Blvd. This vehicle has been seized and is being examined for evidence. Police are encouraging anyone with video to check their cameras on Beach Blvd between the hours of 4:30 a.m. and 9:00 a.m. for a black 2015 Ford Edge SUV with licence plate CSKC 111 observed on their system.

Faqir Ali and his son are recovering in hospital and remain in stable condition. Hamilton Police can confirm that 21-year-old Hasnain Ali, affectionately known to his family as Nano, was killed during the incident. In the interest of privacy, the name of Mr. Ali’s surviving son will not be released.

The investigation has now shifted from a rescue mission to a homicide investigation. The investigation continued throughout the night in an effort to identify those responsible. Police are searching for three male suspects. At this time, Hamilton Police have suspect descriptions for two males:

Suspect 1 - Black Male, 6'0 - 6'1, thin or skinny, dark skin, dark pants and a dark top.

Suspect 2 - Black Male, wearing a grey tracksuit and a wrap described as a "doo rag" on his head.

These suspects were last seen headed fleeing Niagara Bound on Eastport drive towards Nikola Tesla Blvd in the second black SUV. This black SUV has since been located and seized in Hamilton by police. No further details of this vehicle will be provided at this time as the details surrounding its recovery are under investigation.

Thanks to the swift response from the public and media, Mr. Ali was safely located at 9:00 a.m. yesterday morning near Beach Blvd. Investigators received a number of tips and calls from the public that led to his safe recovery.

Investigators do not yet have a motive for this crime. Police are asking anyone with information to come forward.

Hamilton Police are investigating a double shooting and home invasion in the area of Glancaster and Dickenson Road in Mount Hope.

On September 16, 2021, at approximately 2:55 a.m., Hamilton Police were called to the residence for reports of a shooting. Upon arrival, police found two males in their 20s suffering from gunshot wounds. The males were transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries. One male subsequently succumbed to his injuries. A third male was forcibly taken from the home in a dark SUV.

Hamilton Police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating 63-year-old Faqir Ali. Ali is described as 5'7, 180 pounds, medium complexion, thinning black hair, and was wearing black and white plaid pyjamas bottoms and no shirt when he was taken from his home.

Investigators believe this was a targeted incident.

There will be a large police presence in the area and police are asking the public to stay away.

Huang is of Chinese descent, 5'5, 140 lbs, with dark auburn hair.

She was last seen leaving her residence near the Meadowlands in Ancaster on Sunday, September 29, 2019.

She has reportedly made some acquaintances in the Hamilton and Toronto/York area but as she is so new to Canada, these people remain unknown at this time. Her family in China are aware that she is missing.

Hamilton Police have information that indicates Huang's safety may be at risk. Police are not releasing the details at this time.
