                        <title>Hamilton Police Investigate Assault at Bayfront Park</title>

                        <guid>https://hamiltonpolice.on.ca/news/one-arrested-after-incident-at-hamilton-secondary-school/</guid><pp:caseid>545910</pp:caseid><description><![CDATA[<p><span>Nora Frances Henderson Secondary School announced a Hold and Secure in response to an active incident involving an edged weapon. &nbsp;</span></p><p><span>On Thursday, November 3, 2022, shortly before 12:00 p.m., Hamilton Police responded to Nora Frances Henderson Secondary School, after reports of an individual outside of the school with an edged weapon.</span></p><p><span>Police responded to the school and arrested a 16-year-old male youth.</span></p><p><span>A 16-year-old female youth was taken to hospital with minor injuries sustained from the edged weapon.</span></p><p><span>The 16-year-old male youth has been charged with Assault with a Weapon.</span></p><p><span style="background-color:rgb(249,249,249);">Hamilton Police recognize the importance of school safety and how a threat of this nature can be difficult for students, staff and their families. The suspect brandished a knife and robbed the business of a quantity of cash.</span></p><p style="text-align:justify;"><span>No one was injured. The suspect brandished a pocketknife and attempted to rob the business but ultimately left empty handed.                         <title>Hamilton Man arrested for Tim Hortons’s Robbery</title>

                        <guid>https://hamiltonpolice.on.ca/news/hamilton-man-arrested-for-tim-hortonss-robbery/</guid><pp:caseid>448949</pp:caseid><description><![CDATA[<p><span><span><span><span><span>A Hamilton man was arrested overnight after an armed robbery took place in the City&rsquo;s East End.</span></span></span></span></span></p><p><span><span><span><span><span>On Wednesday, April 21, 2021, shortly after 11:00 p.m., a male entered Tim Hortons in the east end of Hamilton, ordered a beverage then proceeded to tell the Tim Hortons employee he was armed with a knife. The male demanded all the money in the cash register, and then proceeded to pull out the knife and point it at the employee.</span></span></span></span></span></p><p><span><span><span><span><span>As this was occurring, the employee managed to get the attention of another staff member, who was working the drive-thru window at the time. The staff member sought the help of a customer, who then called for police.</span></span></span></span></span></p><p><span><span><span><span><span>The employees complied with the suspect&rsquo;s directions, removing the cash till from the register and handing it over to the suspect. The suspect then proceeded to exit the Tim Hortons and was seen fleeing the area on a bicycle.</span></span></span></span></span></p><p><span><span><span><span><span>The employees provided police with a description and direction of travel for the suspect. With the information provided by witnesses, police searched, eventually locating the suspect in the area of Roxborough Avenue and Tuxedo Avenue North, where he was arrested.</span></span></span></span></span></p><p><span><span><span><span><span>Investigators seized evidence related to the robbery.                         <title>Police Look to Identify Hotel Robber</title>

Anyone with information about the incident or can identify the suspect is asked to contact investigators.</span></span></span></p><p><span><span><span>On Monday, November 30, 2020, shortly after 6:15 p.m., a lone male suspect entered the Days Inn Hotel, located at 210 Main Street East, Hamilton. He approached the front counter and demanded money. At the time, the employee noted the male was in possession of a knife.</span></span></span></p><p><span><span><span>The suspect obtained an undisclosed amount of cash and other items as he fled the building.                         <title>Arrests Made in Hamilton Mountain Assault</title>

<p>On Tuesday, October 8, 2019, shortly after 4:30 p.m., a confrontation occurred outside Limeridge Mall between a group of young people and two adults. One of the adults was bumped and words were exchanged. The second adult was repeatedly punched and kicked. The assault continued until concerned citizens intervened and the suspects fled the area.</p>

<p>During the assault, a knife was displayed to the victims.</p>

<p>Hamilton Police Mountain Division detectives have continued the investigation and identified the parties involved in the incident. They were arrested and taken into police custody. They have been released and are scheduled to appear in court on Friday, November 15, 2019.</p>

<p>The victims received minor injuries, none in relation to the knife.</p>
