Hamilton Police have received new information on the disappearance of 62-year-old John Edwards, a vulnerable adult last seen leaving St. Joseph’s Villa on June 11, 2025 around 9:15 a.m.

Over the past several days, officers and community partners have conducted extensive ground searches and reviewed hours of surveillance footage in an effort to retrace Mr. Edwards’ movements and locate him safely.  Investigators have positively tracked Mr. Edwards through various locations in Dundas throughout the morning of June 11.  His movements included frequent stops, seemingly to pick up items from the ground, and lacked a clear destination. 

At approximately 9:57 a.m., Mr. Edwards was observed walking westbound on the north side of Baldwin Street, passing the McDonald’s at 10 Cootes Drive. He then proceeded northbound on Main Street, followed by westbound on King Street, passing Memorial Square at 10:14 a.m.  John turned south onto John Street and then seen on camera walking west on King Street at Peel St at 10:39 a.m.

The most recent sighting, confirmed today through newly obtained video footage, shows Mr. Edwards at 3:10 p.m. on June 11th at the Esso Station located at 947 Centre Road. He is seen walking southeast on Centre Road toward Waterdown Village, crossing the road, and continuing westbound through the Esso parking lot to Concession 6, where he proceeds southwest along concession 6.

Recent surveillance image and video from June 11 is attached to assist the public in identifying Mr. Edwards.

Hamilton Police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a missing 31-year-old man of Hamilton.  

Robert O’Toole was last seen on Saturday, March 23, 2024, in the area of Vine Street in downtown Hamilton. Both family and friends have raised concerns regarding Robert’s mental health, noting a significant decline since their last interaction.

In the past, Robert has been known to travel on foot along the 403 from downtown Hamilton to the area of Fiddlers Green and Amberly Blvd in Ancaster.

Family advised that this is the longest period without contact, causing great concern for his well-being.   

Robert O’Toole is described as male, Caucasian, 5ft 11ins, 161 lbs., brown hair, brown eyes and may have a beard.

Kennan also goes by the name Cianain Nichole Venuk.

Charanpreet was last seen on Thursday, December 14, 2023. He is a transport truck drive and his truck was discovered abandoned on the Skyway Bridge in the vicinity of the QEW and Eastport Drive, Hamilton. Described as a 5’6” East Indian male, weighing 140lbs, Charanpreet was last seen wearing a black turban, grey jacket, grey shirt, black sweatpants, and black running shoes.

Notably, he has a distinctive half sleeve tattoo (pictured) of a tiger with blue eyes covering his left arm from wrist to elbow.

Known to frequent Brampton, Ontario, and Edmonton, Alberta, Charanpreet is employed as a long-haul truck driver.

Vanessa was reported missing by her family on July 24, 2023. She is described as five-foot-three and 114 pounds with brown eyes, brown hair. Vanessa has a cat tattoo on her right thigh and the word “blessed” on the right side of her abdomen.

Venessa is known to travel around the province and was last in contact with friends and family in May. Police are concerned for her wellbeing.

Hamilton Police Homicide investigators have taken over the search for missing person Emily Bailey.

On Monday, January 10, 2022, Emily was reported missing after her friends and family were unable to locate her. This was out of character for her. Emily was last reported to be attending a New Year’s Eve party on Weir St N. before leaving an acquaintance’s house the next day. She has not been seen or heard from since that time.

Hamilton Police have been working extensively on Emily’s disappearance since she was reported missing. At this time, the circumstances surrounding her disappearance have indicated the possibility of foul play. As a result, the investigation has now been turned over to the Homicide Unit. 

Investigators believe Emily was last active in Hamilton at the end of December 2021. She is a mother and her young daughters miss her greatly. Hamilton Police believe there are individuals who have information related to Emily’s disappearance and are encouraging those people to come forward.

• 23-years-old
• 5’4" tall
• Weighing approximately 100lbs
• Slim build
• Shoulderlength black/brown hair, with dyed blue or green highlights
• Visual tattoos include an elephant on her left forearm

Hamilton Police are requesting the public's  assistance in locating missing 33-year-old Stacie Rasberry.

Stacie’s family and police are concerned for her wellbeing.

Police have confirmed Stacie was seen walking on Highway 20 in Wellandport, Niagara, on Saturday, February 19, 2022, shortly after 3:00 p.m.  and used the name Sarah Marlow. Stacie is also believed to use the name, Naomi Marlow. 

At that time, Stacie was wearing a black coat, red toque with a pompom on the top, pink scarf and brown boots with fur around the top.  Stacie is described as follows:

Denise was last seen on October 31, 2021, at approximately 8:00 p.m., at her residence in the area of Mineral Springs Road and Slote Road in Ancaster.

This is not the outcome police were hoping for and our thoughts are with the Gloster family.

Hamilton Police are appealing to the public for help identifying a vulnerable senior who has been in a Hamilton hospital since the end of October.

On September 23, 2020, Halton Paramedics and Halton Police transported the male to a Halton hospital after finding him in medical distress. He received treatment and was discharged from hospital on October 29, 2020, and transported to a shelter in the Hamilton area. It was determined the shelter was not the best location for him and he was brought to a Hamilton hospital, where he has been ever since.

Hamilton Police and Hamilton healthcare providers have been working to identify the male and have exhausted all efforts. Through investigation, police have determined he has no known connections to the Hamilton area but may be known within Halton and the broader GTA.

The male responds to the name Sam and was known to frequent GO Station properties in the Halton and Etobicoke area prior to his initial hospitalization.

On Tuesday, September 8, 2020, a worker in the area spotted what appeared to be a body floating in Hamilton Harbour at Pier 11. Hamilton Police responded, and with the assistance of Hamilton Fire, recovered the body. The body had been in the water for a prolonged period of time and was sent to the Centre for Forensic Sciences for identification.

The Centre for Forensic Sciences has now confirmed the remains are of missing person Holly Ellsworth-Clark.

Holly was last seen on January 11, 2020, by her roommates at her home. Before she left her residence, Holly appeared to be suffering from some distress but was otherwise healthy and athletic. Hamilton Police and Holly’s family conducted a thorough investigation including ground search, social media posts and continued to follow up on various leads and tips with negative results.

Hamilton Police would like to thank the public for assistance during the search for Holly. From sharing video surveillance to putting up missing person posters, the community rallied around Holly and her family.

Holly’s family has been notified of the results. Today’s news was not the outcome her family and Hamilton Police were hoping to receive. Hamilton Police do not believe Holly’s death is suspicious in nature. Thank you to The National Centre for Missing Person and Unidentified Remains, the Centre for Forensic Sciences and the DNA Database for all their assistance in bringing closure to this case.

James Maguire has been located.  

On July 21st, 2020  77 year old James Maguire left his family home in the City's East end between the hours of 9:30am and 3:30pm.  

Maguire is believed to have left the residence driving a Black 2005 Toyota Matrix 653 KVC.  The vehicle has faded yellow headlights and a piece of tinfoil on the antenna.  He left in an unknown direction.  

Maguire is described as 6ft2 but walks hunched over with the assistance of a cane.  He has very poor mobility.  Maguire suffers from Dementia and may be confused.  His clothing description is not known.  

Maquire is known to frequent Brantford, Port Dover and the Midland area.

On Wednesday, July 8, 2020, shortly after 4:00 p.m., Sheila Johnston was last seen walking by herself, away from her residence towards Myrtle Avenue and Main Street East in Hamilton. Since that time, there has been no bank or social media activity. Through continued investigation, police learned Sheila has ties to the Newmarket area.

Hamilton Police have investigated several leads which have concluded with negative results.

On Saturday, June 27, 2020, shortly before 8:00 a.m., Jeremiah Alcantara left his residence in the area of Stone Church Road East and Upper Wentworth Street on his BMX bicycle. He has not been seen since.

There is a concern for Jeremiah as he is considered vulnerable and requires support. He is not usually away from home for long periods of time and he will require assistance in returning as he is not able to navigate this on his own.

Hamilton Police continue to search for a missing 31-year-old Hamilton man who was last seen in mid-September 2019.

On September 10, 2019, shortly after 4:00 a.m. Brandon Pollock was seen leaving his residence in the area of Herkimer Street and Caroline Street in Hamilton. That same day, three males on a boat observed a male swimming near the lift bridge in Lake Ontario, about 1 km off the shoreline, directly in the middle of the boat channel. The boaters went over to check on his well-being. The swimmer advised that he was okay and waved them on. The boaters drove by a second time as their instincts indicated that this was not normal and recorded their conversation with the male. The male again advised that he was okay and encouraged the boaters to move along.

Later that evening, the boaters observed the media release/photo about the missing male and immediately called police to provide video and photos. The family has viewed the video and photos, and believe the male in the video was Brandon.

This was out of character for Brandon and there is a concern for his well-being.

Hamilton Police Service is requesting the assistance of the public in order to locate a missing 22-year-old Hamilton woman.

Crystal Best is described as female white, 5'7, 210lbs, shoulder length brown hair, blue eyes, blue framed glasses and a nose ring. 

Crystal was last seen by her family on Saturday, June 13^th, 2020 at approximately 8:30 pm in the area of Mountain Avenue North, Stoney Creek. At that time, she was wearing pink camouflage pants and light purple sandals .  She may have also been wearing a red hooded sweatshirt.   

Crystal's family has had no communication with her since.

On May 7, 2020, 58-year-old, Tracey Crevar left her Glengrove Avenue residence at 3:30 p.m., in her 2010 Grey Dodge Caravan. Tracey’s intent was to pick up some groceries from No Frills on Queenston Road in Stoney Creek. Her family called police when she did not return.

This unusual behaviour along with health-related issues are causing concern for her well-being.

Hamilton Police are actively looking for 40-year-old, Richard Mann who went missing from the St. Joseph’s Outpatient Program in Hamilton.

Police received information about Mann failing to attend a scheduled 2:00 p.m. appointment on March 26, 2020, at St. Joseph’s West 5th Hospital.

There have been a couple of unconfirmed sightings of Mann in the West Hamilton and downtown area.

Richard Mann, 40-years from Hamilton, is currently unlawfully at large and is wanted on a Warrant of Committal - Form 49.
