Upon arrival, officers conducted a thorough search but were unable to locate a scene. At this time, no victims or injured parties have been identified. The investigation is ongoing as police continue to gather information and search for any evidence related to the reported gunshots.

Division Two Criminal Investigation Branch is in charge of the investigation.  Hamilton Police are asking residents in the area to review their security surveillance cameras or dash camera footage between the hours of 6:40 a.m. and 7:20 a.m. for any suspicious activity and to contact police.

The investigation began just after midnight on Saturday, May 18, 2024, when police received a report of what was believed to be gunshots. An initial investigation was conducted, but no witnesses, evidence of a shooting, or victims were found.

Late yesterday afternoon, Monday, May 20, 2024, police received a report from a citizen in the area of Sherman Avenue South and Main Street East who had been away for the weekend and returned to find several shell casings on their property. Further investigation revealed evidence of a firearm discharge. The exact timeline has been determined to be shortly before midnight on Friday, May 17, 2024.

No victims have been reported injured to the police in relation to this shooting.

Investigators are asking residents in the area with security cameras to review footage from the specified dates for any unusual or suspicious activity. Additionally, those who were driving nearby with dash cameras are urged to check their footage as well.

Detectives are asking residents in the area to review their security surveillance cameras between the hours of 10:40 p.m. to 11:20 p.m. for any suspicious activity and to contact police. On Thursday, January 12, 2023, shortly before 1:00 a.m., Hamilton Police responded to reports of gunshots in the area of Upper Paradise Road and Stone Church Road West.

Hamilton Police can confirm a shooting incident occurred and that no injuries have been reported to police at this time.

On Saturday, June 18th, 2022, just prior to 2:30 a.m., Hamilton Police responded to possible shots fired call in the area of John Street North and King William Street, Hamilton. 

Police can confirm a shooting incident occurred however, no injuries were reported.

Police located the male inside a vehicle in the area of Gage Avenue North and Cannon Street East in Hamilton.

A male sustained significant injury after shots were fired.

Evidence at the scene confirmed shots were fired and no reported injuries. Police believe the interaction was targeted.

On April 21st, 2019 just shortly after 5:00 am, Hamilton Police responded to reports of shots fired in the area of Main St E and Graham Ave. N. Hamilton. 

Police responded and searched the area. Evidence was located confirming a shooting had taken place. At this time a victim has not been identified. Suspects are outstanding.
