At approximately 2:15 p.m., Hamilton Police received reports that several individuals had been stabbed after an altercation at the mosque. The altercation started outside the location and continued inside the building. One person was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and the other was treated at the scene. A third victim showed up at the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Two suspects fled the area in an unknown direction. There were conflicting reports whether it was one or two separate vehicles. Upon further investigation, it was determined that the second suspect was not involved. 

The suspects and victims were known to each other. The investigation led detectives to an address on the Hamilton Mountain, where 40-year-old Abdullah Alkhlif from Hamilton was arrested and charged with the following:

• Aggravated Assault
• Assault Cause Bodily Harm (x2)

On Monday, June 17, 2024, at approximately 5:00 p.m., a 48-year-old man saw two individuals harassing an unidentified male. When he tried to intervene, the suspects turned their focus on him, resulting in him being stabbed.

The suspect descriptions are:

Suspect #1 – Male/white, approximately 18 years old, brown, shaggy hair wearing dark clothing with a long-sleeved shirt.

Suspect #2 – Male/brown skin, approximately 18 years old with freckles on his face.

Both suspects possessed knives during the incident. The suspects then escaped on bicycles, taking some of the victim's belongings with them.

The 48-year-old male was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Hamilton Police are releasing images of suspects involved in the Bayfront Park stabbing that occurred in August of 2023. 

On Saturday, August 26, 2023 at approximately 2:20 a.m. Hamilton Police responded to Bayfront Park, where two individuals in their 20's were injured in an altercation involving an edged weapon.

Through investigation, it is believed a dispute occurred between a group of individuals in the park, which escalated to two males being stabbed. The victims were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.  

Investigators are appealing for the public’s assistance in identifying the suspects involved.

On Friday December 1, 2023, at approximately 8:30pm, Hamilton Police responded to a 911 call in the area of Concession Street and East 34th Street in the City of Hamilton. Police located a 24 year old male victim suffering from stab wounds to his back and right side of his body, believed to be caused by an edged weapon. The male was transported to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.  Police believe this assault to be a targeted incident with no threat to the public. 

As a result of the investigation, police have identified a 24-year-old male suspect to be charged with Assault with a Weapon.  As the information has not been sworn to before the courts, the suspect's name cannot be released at this time.

Hamilton Police responded to a stabbing in the area of Park Avenue North and York Boulevard shortly after 8:30 a.m. on Monday, November 27, 2023. Upon arrival,  a male in his 50s was located with injuries. Despite being transported to the hospital, the male was later pronounced deceased.

Investigators continued to canvass witnesses, pursue leads, and search for the suspect described by witnesses as a white male in dark clothing. Shortly after 11:00 a.m. police arrested a 25-year-old male and the Hamilton Police Homicide Unit continues to investigate. It's important to note that the investigation is ongoing, and no charges have been laid at this time.

In efforts to gather more information, investigators are appealing to businesses and residents in the area to review any surveillance footage that may assist the case.

Presently, the victim's family and next of kin have not been notified, and no further details will be disclosed at this time.

Police have been in the area canvassing for surveillance footage and witnesses.

Investigators are appealing to residents of the area bound by Cannon Street East and Barton Street East between Ruth Street and Kinrade Street to check their video footage for Thursday, September 14, 2023 between 12:30 p.m. and 1:15 p.m. 

The victim is described as a white male wearing dark clothing including a dark hooded jacket and had a dark coloured bicycle. There are no suspect descriptors at this time.

On Thursday, September 14, 2023, at approximately 1:00 p.m. a man walked into a business in the area of Kinrade Avenue and Barton Street North asking for help after being stabbing in the back.

The victim, a 39-year-old man of Hamilton was taken to hospital in stable condition.

On Saturday, September 9, 2023 at approximately 5:00 a.m., Hamilton Police responded to the area of Sherman Avenue North and Case Street after receiving information of a Break and Enter in progress and an altercation involving multiple individuals. Police located a female victim suffering from a stab wound to her abdomen. The female remains in non-life threatening condition.

As a result of the investigation, police arrested and charged a 40-year-old male with the following offences:

• Mischief Under $5,000
• Utter Threat to Cause Death or Bodily Harm
• Fail to Comply Probation

Shortly before 12:30 p.m., police responded to reports of a shooting in the area of King Street West and Bay Street North. Police located one victim with injuries that are not considered to be life-threatening. At this time, there is no evidence to suggest a shooting took place. 

A 25-year-old male is under arrest. The circumstances surrounding the incident are still under investigation.

On Sunday, August 27, 2023, shortly before 6:30 p.m., Hamilton Police were called to 168 Bay Street North, Central Park for an assault that had just taken place out front of a tented area. Information received was that two individuals began to fight and one brandished a knife, stabbing a 34-year-old man and sending him to hospital.

In the interest of public safety and transparency, we wish to share the details of the incident and our ongoing efforts to ensure the safety of our community.

Upon arrival, officers discovered a victim with stab wounds inflicted by a knife, at this time believed to be a machete. Immediate medical attention was provided to the victim, who was then transported to hospital and later released.

Information on the suspect is unknown and our investigators are working diligently to gather evidence, interview any witnesses, and identify the suspect involved in this serious crime.

While this incident is deeply concerning, it is an isolated incident, and there is no immediate threat to the public. We will continue to maintain a police presence in Central Park and surrounding areas.

On Saturday, July 15, 2023, shortly before 12:00 p.m. Hamilton Police responded to Woodlands Park after receiving information about a stabbing in the tented area of the park. Upon arrival, officers located a 37-year-old male victim without vital signs. The male was transported to hospital however is no longer in hospital.

Through the dedication and investigative work, officers were able to identify and arrest a suspect in connection with the attack.

On Thursday, August 31, 2023, shortly before 9:00 p.m. officers observed the suspect exit a vehicle in the area of Sanford Avenue North and Cannon Street East, officers quickly identified and arrested 62-year-old Mark Ribson for Aggravated Assault.

Hamilton Police make arrest in serious stabbing incident at commercial business.

On Friday, February 3, 2023, at approximately 1:48p.m., a lone male entered a commercial business located at 1660 Upper James Street. While inside the business, the male suspect proceeded to attack an employee with an edged weapon causing serious injuries.

The suspect was described as a thin male with black hair and receding hairline, wearing a green camo-pattern winter jacket, a trapper hat, blue mask and grey khakis.

On Thursday, February 9, 2023, Hamilton Police arrested 34-year-old, Muneeb Ali Ghawar, male of Hamilton for the following charges;

• Aggravated Assault
• Robbery
• Disguise with Intent

The victim was transported to hospital in stable condition and has since been released from hospital.

On Wednesday, January 11, 2023, shortly after 2:30 p.m., a 15-year-old Hamilton male was walking home from school in the area of Candlewood Drive. The youth was stabbed several times and transported to hospital with life threatening injuries.

The victim remains in critical but stable condition.

A 16-year-old youth was arrested a short time after the stabbing and held for a bail hearing today.

Detectives continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding what took place yesterday before and after the incident. On Monday, December 12, 2022, shortly after 2:30 p.m., Hamilton Police received reports an individual entered the City Centre located at 77 James Street North bleeding heavily.

Police arrived on scene to find a 38-year-old man with two stab wounds. Emergency partners tended to the victim as police cordoned off the scene.

The 38-year-old victim was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries and was taken directly into immediate surgery.

On Tuesday, December 13, 2022, Hamilton Police arrested, 27-year-old, Daniel Dolan for the following charges:

• Robbery with intent
• Fail to comply Probation X 4

Shortly before 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, August 23, 2022 Hamilton Police received 9-11- calls in relation to a person with a machete in the area of Robert Street and Catharine Street North.  Investigation has revealed that a 43-year-old Hamilton man was struck with the machete and sustained life altering injuries. The victim remains in hospital.

At approximately 5:15 p.m. on Wednesday, August 24, 2022 Hamilton Police responded to the area of York Boulevard and Bay Street for another stabbing.  A 67-year-old Hamilton man had sustained a single puncture wound after attempting to break up a fight between two males who were unknown to him. The suspect had fled prior to police being called.  The victim was transported to hospital where he underwent several medical procedures. He remains in hospital in non-life threatening condition.

As a result of information provided by victims and independent eye witnesses, police located the 39-year-old suspect and arrested him at 5:32 p.m. shortly after yesterdays stabbing.

The weapons involved in both of these incidents have been recovered.

At 5:46 p.m. on Wednesday, August 24, 2022 Hamilton Police learned of a disturbance in the area of 108 York Boulevard.  On scene, police located a 33-year-old Hamilton man who had a stab wound to his abdomen and an injured lip.  The victim was transported to hospital and treated for his injuries. Despite the victim being uncooperative, police have determined that the victim was stabbed approximately 45 minutes prior in a nearby parking lot by the same suspect. 

AYALA remains in custody.

Police are also investigating of a fourth stabbing which occurred in the area of Jackson Square on the rooftop between the hours of 2:30 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 24, 2022.  In this case, a 31-year-old Hamilton man was stabbed in the leg. This investigation is ongoing and additional charges may be laid as a result.

On Tuesday, June 29, 2021, shortly after 3:00 p.m., Hamilton Police responded to reports of a stabbing that occurred in the area of Acadia Drive at Billy Sherring Park in Hamilton. Once on scene, police located a male suffering from injuries believed to have been caused by an edged weapon. The 17-year-old male was transported to hospital with serious injuries. His condition has since been upgraded to stable condition.

Hamilton Police detectives have since made an arrest in relation to this stabbing incident.

On Monday, May 24, 2021, shortly after 8:00p.m., police responded to a stabbing in the area of Main Street East and Wentworth Street South.

Police immediately searched the area and located two victims of a stabbing.

The suspect fled on foot prior to police arrival.

The investigation has lead to the arrest of a 22-year-old suspect from Hamilton, who has since been charged, bail opposed.

Golightly will be appearing in court today.

The victim’s were taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The victim’s and the accused were known to one another.

When the group from Peel arrived at the lot, they were outnumbered and were immediately ambushed by the larger Hamilton contingent.

Three of the out-of-towners received stab wounds and other injuries and required hospital treatment. Two of the Hamilton mob received injuries after being struck by a vehicle. They left and sought medical treatment on their own, prior to police and paramedics arriving.

Several hours later, it was realized that one of the persons from Peel was unaccounted for and police returned to the area. With the assistance of the canine unit, 19-year-old Ali Mohummad was located by the fence line at the northwest corner of 11 Kendale Court. He was deceased and an autopsy later revealed, died as the result of stab wounds.

The Major Crime Unit took carriage of the case. As a result of their investigation, two male young offenders, both aged 17, were arrested an charged with Second Degree murder, Aggravated Assault (x2) and Assault with a weapon within days of the murder.

In 2020, the Hamilton Police Service recorded its highest number of murders. Despite the heavy workload, the lead investigator on the Mohummad case, Det Daryl Reid, from the Major Crime Unit continued to view hours of surveillance video, track down persons who were present and witnessed the events surrounding Ali’s death, the majority who did not wish to become involved. This dedication led to the police identifying one of the knife-yielding attackers.

On Wednesday, May 12, 2021, a third, 17 year-old youth was arrested at his west mountain residence without incident. He was also charged with Second Degree murder, Aggravated Assault (x2) and Assault with a weapon. He will be appearing in court in Hamilton on Thursday morning.

The investigation has not been concluded and anyone, who has not spoken to police and who was present and witnessed the altercation last July is encouraged to call police.

Phuoc VO is charged with two counts of Second Degree murder and is to be audio remanded this morning.

He remains in hospital and in an induced coma.

On Monday, April 26, 2021, at approximately 12:35 p.m., police received 911 calls from tenants at 20 George Street advising a male was stabbing a female on the thirteenth floor hallway.

Upon arrival, police found a 34-year-old male and 61-year-old female lying in the hallway suffering from stab wounds. Both individuals were in critical condition. Information was received that a second male victim was in a nearby apartment and when police entered the unit, they located a 67-year-old male suffering from serious stab wounds as well.

Witnesses identified the 34-year-old male as the person responsible for stabbing the female and he was arrested for Attempt Murder (x2).

The three injured parties were transported to hospital by Hamilton Paramedic Service. The 61-year-old female was pronounced dead at the hospital and the 67-year-old male died in the operating room.

The accused male survived surgery and is currently listed as being in serious but stable condition. He is under guard at the hospital and will be charged with two counts of Second Degree murder when he regains consciousness.

The accused is the son of the two deceased and next-of-kin were eventually located last evening. The names of the victims and accused will be released once extended family is notified.

Police are awaiting a search warrant before processing the apartment where the father was located. A weapon has been recovered.

This was a family dispute and police are not looking for any other suspects and there is no danger to members of the public.

Hamilton Police have arrested a 36-year-old man from Hamilton for a stabbing that occurred Saturday night.

On Saturday, March 27, 2021, at approximately 11:18 p.m., police responded to a stabbing in progress call in the area of Main Street East and Wentworth Street North.

Police immediately searched the area with the Emergency Response Unit (ERU) and the Canine Unit. The search lead to the arrest of the 36-year-old suspect from Hamilton, who has since been charged and had his bail opposed.

Desousa will be appearing in court today.

On Monday, March 22, 2021, at approximately 9:30 p.m., Hamilton Police responded to the intersection of Main Street North and John Street East in Waterdown, in regards to a stabbing that had just occurred. On Wednesday, March 10, 2021 shortly after midnight Hamilton Police responded to a disturbance involving several males in the area of York Blvd and Bay St N.

Two males were involved in a dispute and subsequently one male sustained various stab wounds to the left side of his body and was transported to hospital.

Investigations lead to a 43-year-old male from Hamilton and was arrested and charges with aggravated assault.

On Thursday, February 25, 2021, shortly after 4:00 a.m., Hamilton Police responded to a business in the area of Glover Road and Twenty Road East for a report of an assault.

Once on scene, officers located two female victims, one in her late 40’s and the other in her late teens. Both victims had received multiple stab wounds.

The victims were transported to hospital, where they are currently in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries.

A 39-year–old Hamilton man was arrested for two counts of aggravated assault a short time after and was taken into police custody.

The two victims and the arrested male are all employees of the business.

On Friday, February 12, 2021, shortly after 1:30 a.m., Hamilton Police responded to a residence in the area of Quigley Road and Angus Road for a report of an assault. Once on scene, officers located a male in his mid-40’s with injuries to his upper body consistent with being stabbed. He was transported to the hospital in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries.

A 48-year–old male was arrested at the scene without incident and police have confirmed he is the brother of the victim. He was taken into police custody.

The investigation has been taken over by the Division Two Criminal Investigation Branch.

The scene is being held therefore a police presence is expected in the area for the majority of the morning.

Criminal charges are not being released at this time as the investigation remains ongoing.

Hamilton Police have arrested and charged a 33-year-old female from Hamilton for an attempted murder on Wednesday, February 10, 2021. A 27-year-old male is also wanted in connection with the incident.

At approximately 11:00 p.m., on Wednesday, February 10, 2021, a 30 year-old male attended 646 Main Street East, which was a residence of an acquaintance.

When he was invited inside, the victim was viciously attacked by the assailants.

Two of the individuals involved in the attack stole the victim’s keys and left the area in the victim’s white Acura sedan.

Another individual attended the residence as the beating was taking place and attempted to intervene but he was unable to assist.

A 9-1-1 call was generated due to the disturbance.This male was arrested near the scene as it was initially believed that he was involved. Upon further investigation, it was determined he was a witness to this crime and he was released unconditionally.

When police attended the scene, one of the assailants jumped out a window to escape.

The victim was transported to a local hospital where he underwent lifesaving surgery. He is still listed as being in critical condition.

The 33-year-old female resident from the apartment, Madeleine Peternel, also known as Madeleine Divers returned to the scene and was arrested.

She has been charged with Attempted Murder and Robbery. She appeared in a Hamilton court this afternoon and has been remanded into custody.

An arrest warrant for Attempted Murder and Robbery has been issued for 27 year-old Jason Anthony Long.

Long is known to police.

He had a shaved head on the sides with longer hair on top, Mohawk style, at the time of the offence. He has sleeve tattoos on his arms, a teardrop tattoo under his right eye and tattoos on both sides of his neck.The weapons that were used in the attack have not all been recovered at this time.

Jason Long is considered dangerous.If seen, members of the public are encouraged to call 9-1-1. Do not approach.

The victim’s stolen white Acura, TLX is now missing its front bumper and is outstanding.

The scene at Main Street East and Burris Street is being maintained as investigators are currently executing a search warrant.

On Tuesday, December 22, 2020 shortly after 3:00 p.m., Hamilton Police responded to the area of James Street North and Robert Street for a male acting erratically. It was reported to Police that the male was also in possession of a weapon.

Upon arrival, Police located a 24-year-old male which immediately confronted Police and engaged in an altercation.

Subsequently three Hamilton Police Officers were stabbed in the neck and head with a knife.

The officers have been transported to local hospital and are currently being treated for their injuries. They are in stable condition.

This is an isolated incident and public safety is not a concern.

Police responded and located a 42-year-old male suffering from serious injuries. The male victim was transported by ambulance to a local hospital where he remains in life-threatening condition.

On Friday, November 13, 2020, at approximately 12:40 p.m., Hamilton Police responded to a call for a domestic disturbance between a couple and their son. When officers arrived, they found Catherine Ambrose and Peter Ambrose, both 63-years-old, suffering from stab wounds. The male suspect then exited the residence armed with a knife and ran at officers. Hamilton Police discharged both a CEW and firearm before arresting the male. The male was not injured.

Catherine was transported to hospital and later succumbed to her injuries. Peter sustained serious injuries and is recovering.

At approximately 7:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 10, 2020, a 9-1-1 call was placed regarding a male needing medical attention in the area of Duke Street and MacNab Street.

Paramedics and Police responded to the area and located a male. The male was pronounced deceased at the scene as a result of stab wounds.

This death is being treated as the City’s 14th homicide of the year.

Investigators have not positively identified the victim at this time. The male appears to be over the age of 30, however age remains unknown.

On Monday, November 2, 2020, shortly after 9:30 p.m., members of the Hamilton Police Service responded to the area of King Street East and Emerald Street North for reports of a stabbing incident. Once on scene, officers secured the area and located a male matching the suspect description provided to police. He was immediately arrested without incident. He was found to be in possession of a knife which was believed to have been used during the incident.

Two adult male victims were located a short time later approximately 400 meters away from the scene. They were transported to the hospital for further medical treatment. Their injuries are believed to be non-life-threatening.

Detectives from the Central Station Criminal Investigations Bureau continue to investigate the incident. They have learned the victims were in the area of Cannon Street East and Smith Avenue when they were approached by the suspect. A brief verbal interaction occurred between the males before the suspect assaulted them while in possession of a knife and demanding cash.

A 40-year-old Hamilton man is scheduled to have his matter addressed at the John Sopinka Courthouse later today. He is facing several charges related to the incident as well as violations to previous court-ordered conditions.

On October 1, 2020, at approximately 8:25 p.m., police responded to a residence near Main St West and Haddon St S for reports of a stabbing. Hamilton Police and Hamilton Paramedics arrived to find 34-year-old Michael Gallo suffering from stab wounds. He was transported to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

The male suspect was seen crossing Main St W at Haddon St where he was nearly struck by a vehicle at approximately 8:20 p.m. The male is described as wearing a gray hoodie with black sleeves with the hood pulled up over his head, 5’9, slender and wearing a blue surgical mask.

Police are urging anyone who may have witnessed this individual crossing the road to contact investigators. Residents in the Westdale area are also asked to check their surveillance cameras for anyone matching this description on October 1, 2020.

Hamilton Police have arrested a male in connection with the death of Gerald Lawrence in September 2019.

On Sunday, September 29, 2019, Hamilton Police and Hamilton Paramedics responded to 555 Queenston Rd. E, Apt. 307 in Stoney Creek for a 911 call involving a person suffering from obvious traumatic injuries to his body.

It was later determined by a post mortem that 76-year-old Gerald Lawrence (known as Gerry) had been a victim of homicide and died as a result of stab wounds. At the time of the murder, a media release was conducted and limited information was provided. Investigators have spent the past year investigating Gerry’s murder.

Yesterday, just after 3:00 p.m., investigators from the Hamilton Police Service Major Crime Unit and Fugitive Apprehension Unit arrested 48-year-old Sandro De Oliveira of Hamilton for the murder of Gerry Lawrence. De Oliveira will appear later today at the John Sopinka Courthouse in Hamilton and will be charged with 2^nd degree murder.

On September 27, 2020, just after 10:00 p.m., Hamilton Police received a 911 call for a person down at a variety store located at 440 Cannon Street East, in Hamilton.

Police arrived within minutes and observed a 60-year-old male victim lying next to his vehicle with stab wounds. Witnesses on scene were very helpful and pointed out a female who was responsible for the attack. Police were able to arrest the 36-year-old female without incident at the scene.

The Major Crime Unit has been called in to investigate. A 36-year-old female will be charged with 2nd-degree murder of the 60-year-old victim. Next of kin continue to be notified and police will release the victim's name later today. Police continue to investigate the relationship between both the accused and the victim.

Police will be canvassing the area for both witnesses and video.

On Tuesday, August 18, 2020, shortly before 11:00 a.m., a concerned citizen observed a female matching the description of the suspect involved in the early morning stabbing incident. She was standing outside a residence in the area of Arther Avenue North and Wilson Street. The citizen had seen the suspect's image on a social media post from Hamilton Police. Police were notified and immediately attended the location. The identity of the female was confirmed and she was arrested without incident. At the time of her arrest, Saulteaux was in possession of a weapon. The investigation continues as detectives work to confirm it was the weapon used in the assault.

The victim continues to receive treatment for his injuries and his condition has been upgraded.

On Tuesday, August 18, 2020, at approximately 1:00 a.m., two residents of the Jerelday Lodge located at 418 Main Street East were socializing in a room when the suspect without provocation stabbed the victim and quickly fled the scene. Hamilton Police were contacted, immediately attended and secured the area. The victim, a 35-year-old Hamilton man was transported to the hospital and is currently in stable condition with life-threatening injuries.

The suspect remains outstanding along with the weapon used.

On July 29, 2020, shortly after 1:30 a.m., police attended an apartment disturbance at 123 Bold Street in Hamilton. Police located signs of a commotion and a large amount of blood but found no one inside.

Approximately 10 minutes later, a male with severe abdominal lacerations entered St. Joseph’s Healthcare emergency room for medical treatment. He advised being stabbed by a friend during an altercation at his apartment on Bold Street, Hamilton. Police were at the hospital for an unrelated matter and obtained details of the assault from the victim. The victim confirmed the other male involved was also sitting in the hospital waiting for medical care.

Police spoke to the patient and evidence lead to the arrest of a 31-year-old male at the hospital. After police gathered all their related evidence Attempt Murder charges were laid.

The victim remains in hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect received minor injuries and remains in custody awaiting a bail hearing.

On Tuesday, July 21, 2020, shortly after 4:00 p.m., Hamilton Police made a second arrest in the murder of Ali Mohummad which occurred in the early hours of Sunday morning in the Limeridge Road West and Kendale Court area of Hamilton.

The 17-year-old male was arrested at his Mount Hope residence where a search warrant was also executed. A vehicle believed to be have been used by the two arrested males to flee the scene was seized for examination along with other items.

The male will appear in court later today and will face the charges of Second Degree Murder, Aggravated Assault (x2) and Assault with a Weapon.

Investigators continue to make progress in identifying other persons who were either present or participated in this incident. Police are encouraging those who merely witnessed the assault to contact police. Those males who participated in the actual assault should seek legal advice and turn themselves into police.

At approximately 1:00 a.m. on Sunday, July 19. 2020, two groups of males in their late teens and early 20s, attended the plaza parking lot at 310 Limeridge Road West, Hamilton. One group was from Peel Region and the second group was from Hamilton. They were there to discuss an ongoing minor dispute between one male from each of the groups.

Four cars with 8-10 males from Peel were immediately swarmed by between 20-30 males from the Hamilton group armed with an array of weapons including knives, sticks, rocks and a conducted energy weapon (CEW).

The occupants in the vehicles were assaulted, removed from the cars and chased. At one point, two members from the Hamilton group took over a Ford Mustang and BMW that belonged to the Peel group and drove dangerously around the lot. The BMW struck two males in the Hamilton group. This incident was partially captured on camera and distributed via social media.

Three of the individuals from Peel suffered injuries and went to hospital after 911 was called. Two of the males were stabbed, while one was admitted and underwent surgery. He is now recovering in hospital. The other two were treated and released.

Around 5:00 a.m. as Detectives were investigating the assaults, they were advised that one of the Peel group members was missing. With the assistance of the Hamilton Police K9 Unit, police located 19-year-old Ali Mohummad deceased in the north-west corner of the parking lot of 11 Kendale Court.

The Major Crime Unit was contacted to attend and a large scene was roped off for most of the day as forensic investigators processed the scene for evidence.

The victim’s family was notified by investigators. They have now contacted their extended family to pass on the news of Ali’s death.

Police have canvassed the area for witnesses and surveillance footage and are asking anyone who may have captured the incident, and who has not yet spoken to them, to contact the Major Crime Unit.

Investigators have identified and interviewed all the persons from the Peel contingent. They cooperated with the investigation and provided valuable information. As a result of this cooperation and other evidence, a 17-year-old male from Hamilton was arrested this morning on the Hamilton Mountain. He will be appearing in court tomorrow morning and is charged with Second Degree Murder, Aggravated Assault (x2) and Assault with a Weapon.

Investigators are making progress in identifying the others who were present during this attack. Police are recommending that anyone who was present and had no direct involvement in the assaults, reach out to provide their account of what transpired. Those others who participated in assaulting the victims should seek legal advice and turn themselves in.
