Hamilton Police continue to investigate an armed robbery that occurred at a commercial establishment in the area of Rymal Road East and Upper Centennial Parkway.

On Friday, July 26, 2024, shortly after 7:30 p.m., officers responded to reports of a robbery. The suspect fled the scene before police arrived. He is believed to have been operating a white compact SUV. The investigation revealed that a single suspect entered the business and demanded cash from the staff while brandishing a handgun.

The suspect is described as:

• Male
• Wearing a black face covering
• Dark zip-up hoodie
• Black pants with white marks
• Black shoes with white soles

Investigators from the BEAR (Break, Enter, Autos, Robbery) Unit are seeking the communities assistance in identifying the suspect. Hamilton Police are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect in a Criminal Harassment investigation.  

On Tuesday, October 24, 2023, at approximately 11:00 a.m., a young female was standing at a bus stop in the area of Barton Street East and Lottridge Street when she was approached by an adult male. After a brief conversation, the young female boarded an HSR bus. The male returned back to his vehicle and followed the bus.

Suspect: Male, brown skin, 30-40 years old, 5’8, stubble facial hair, small to medium build, short black hair, wearing dark sweatpants and dark long sleeved shirt.

Suspect Vehicle: 2019 blue Honda Civic with Ontario licence plate, BZEH 330.

At this time, investigators are actively seeking any potential witnesses to this incident and urge anyone with information to come forward.

Hamilton Police are asking residences, businesses and vehicles with cameras in the area to review their security surveillance cameras between 10:30 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 24, 2023.

At approximately 1:45 a.m. on Sunday, Hamilton Police responded to reports of a shooting in the area, where they discovered two 24-year-old males with gunshot wounds. Both males are currently in stable condition.

We urge the public to come forward with any information they may have regarding the suspect vehicle involved in this incident. The vehicle is believed to be a newer model brown Mercedes-Benz. If you have any knowledge of this vehicle or possess information related to a similar description, please contact the police.

Furthermore, we continue to seek witnesses who were present at the scene during the shooting, to come forward.

To aid in this investigation, we request that residents, businesses, or anyone who was driving in the area between the hours of 1:00 a.m. and 2:00 a.m. on Sunday review their security surveillance cameras or dash camera footage.

On Tuesday, June 13, 2023, shortly before 8:30 p.m., Hamilton Police responded to a robbery in the area of Main Street East near Parkdale Avenue North in Hamilton.

It was reported to police that a female victim was walking eastbound on Main Street East when a vehicle with three to five female occupants abruptly stopped, exited the vehicle and took personal items from the victim. The suspects then began to assault the victim and pull them inside the vehicle while in motion. A short distance later the female was thrown off the vehicle and the vehicle fled southbound on Parkdale Avenue North at a high-rate of speed.

The suspect vehicle is described as being a four door, grey/sliver Ford Focus hatchback.

The three to five suspects believed to be involved in this investigation are described as:

·         Female

·         In their teens 

Investigators are appealing to area residents and businesses to check their surveillance footage between 8:20 p.m. and 8:35 p.m. on Tuesday, June 13, 2023 for any sightings of the suspects and the suspect vehicle.

On Tuesday, May 3, 2022 shortly after 8:00 a.m., a male youth, who is 13-years-of-age was approached by a male in his vehicle.

The vehicle pulled over and stopped near the youth. The driver exited his vehicle and spoke directly to the youth in an attempt to entice him into the vehicle. The youth walked away.

The driver got back into his vehicle, drove westbound on Dover Drive then northbound on Nash Road South and was last seen driving westbound on Queenston Road.

No physical contact was initiated during the incident and no one was physically injured.

Hamilton Police are asking citizens who live in the area of Dover Drive to review any exterior surveillance camera footage for the suspect vehicle described. We are looking between the times of 7:40 a.m. and 8:50 a.m. on Tuesday, May 3, 2022.

On Sunday, March 6, 2022, shortly before 6:00 p.m., Hamilton Police were called to the area of Tisdale Street South and Erie Avenue. Upon arriving, police located a male lying on the ground and appeared to be suffering from a gunshot wound.

The male was transported to hospital where he was pronounced deceased a short time later.

Hamilton Police Homicide Unit has taken over the investigation and continued to investigate throughout the night.

Police are currently seeking the following suspect vehicle information.

SUSPECT VEHICLE

• Black or dark-coloured BMW 4-door sedan
• Silver wheel rims

Witnesses report a black sedan driving down the street and then the discovery of the male victim. At this time, investigators do not have any suspect(s) descriptions available.

The identity of the deceased is confirmed, however investigators are still trying to locate next of kin.

Investigators continue to search for suspects or continued vehicle information. There will be a heavy police presence in the area as police continue to canvass the neighbourhood for witnesses and video.

Hamilton Police are asking anyone with information on the shooting incident that occurred in the area of Elgar Avenue and Limeridge Road West, to come forward.

On Sunday, August 16, 2020, shortly after 6:15 p.m., a dark coloured Audi sedan was observed driving past a residence on Elgar Avenue. At that time, multiple shots were fired from the vehicle towards a group of people gathered outside. The vehicle then fled the scene. No one was injured as a result of the shooting.

Moments after the incident occurred, a citizen reported a 2010 Blue Audi A4, 4-door sedan, with licence plate CKHY362, driving erratically in the area of Scenic Drive and Garth Street. This vehicle was last observed driving northbound - the wrong way - on Park Street South from Herkimer Street.

The vehicle was reported stolen prior to the shooting and police continue to investigate with the belief the incidents are related.

The Hamilton Police Service is asking members of the public to check their security cameras for any suspicious activity.

The firearm used was not recovered and the suspect vehicle remains outstanding. If located, do not approach the vehicle, call 911 immediately.

The investigation is ongoing, but at this time police believe this was a targeted incident.
