                        <title>Robbery Suspects Arrested Outside of Downtown Bank</title>

                        <guid>https://hamiltonpolice.on.ca/news/robbery-suspects-arrested-outside-of-downtown-bank/</guid><pp:caseid>433935</pp:caseid><description><![CDATA[<p><span><span><span>Three Hamilton men will be appearing in court today after they were arrested in a downtown robbery investigation.</span></span></span></p><p><span><span><span>On Wednesday, January 27, 2021, at approximately 10:00 a.m., three males attended a men&rsquo;s shelter in the downtown area where they met a male they knew from previous interactions. They assaulted the 27-year-old victim and threatened to cause him additional harm if he did not turn over money to them. For several hours the victim was forced to attend locations throughout downtown to obtain the money.</span></span></span></p><p><span><span><span>At 3:30 p.m., the victim entered a bank located near King Street West and James Street North. As he approached the bank teller, he informed them of the situation and they contacted police. Officers quickly responded and located the suspects who were attempting to flee.                         <title>Police Charge Youth After Threat Made on Social Media </title>

<p>On Sunday, October 6, 2019, shortly after 10:00 p.m., the HWCDSB received a post on their twitter forum from a suspect who threatened an unspecified school. Hamilton Police Division three detectives initiated an investigation and with the assistance of the Technical Crime Unit, identified the author of the post.</p>

<p>A 16-year-old, Ancaster, male youth was arrested and charged on Monday evening. He was subsequently released on a Promise to Appear and is scheduled for court on Friday, November 8, 2019.</p>

                        <title>Firearms Seized in Neighbour Dispute Investigation</title>

The owner of the firearms was arrested and is now scheduled to appear in court on Thursday, September 19, 2019, to answer to a charge of utter threats.</p>

<p>On Monday, August 19, 2019, shortly after 6:00 p.m., Hamilton Police received information regarding a neighbour dispute in the area of Limeridge Road East and Upper Ottawa Street. The situation escalated to the point where one person allegedly threatened to shoot his neighbour. When police arrived on the scene, they learned there was an ongoing dispute that recently included a heated discussion between a male and female from opposing homes.</p>

<p>On this day, the husband of the female verbally confronted the other male, which resulted in his life allegedly being threatened with a firearm.</p>

<p>An investigation of the male related to the threat revealed he legally owned firearms and ammunition. He was arrested for the offence of utter threats to cause death, taken into police custody and later released. He is scheduled to appear in court on Thursday, September 19, 2019, to answer to the charge.</p>

<p>Until the court proceedings have been resolved, a firearms licence, firearms and ammunition belonging to the accused were seized by police.</p>

<p>A firearm was not displayed during any of the incidents.</p>

Calls were made to the school two days in a row threatening staff and students.</p>

<p>Hamilton Police searched the school and did not find anything to validate either threat.</p>
