                        <title>UPDATE: Police Charge Driver in Queen Street Fail to Remain</title>

                        <guid>https://hamiltonpolice.on.ca/news/update-police-charge-driver-in-queen-street-fail-to-remain/</guid><pp:caseid>671936</pp:caseid><description><![CDATA[<p><span>Hamilton Police Service have charged a 61-year-old man of Hamilton in relation to a Fail to Remain collision.</span></p><p><span>On Sunday, October 13th, 2024, at approximately 5:42am a collision occurred in the southbound lane of Queen Street South, south of Aberdeen Avenue, in the City of Hamilton. An individual was located on the roadway with serious head injuries and investigation revealed that the individual had been struck by a motor vehicle. The individual was transported to the Hamilton General Hospital by EMS with critical, life threatening injuries.                         <title>Arrests Made in January Shooting Incident on King Street West</title>

Although no injuries were reported, stray bullets struck several vehicles and buildings, causing significant concern in the community.</p><p>After a comprehensive investigation, the Hamilton Police Service is announcing the arrests of the following individuals</p><h3><strong>Alexander CARNICELLI</strong>, 29, of Hamilton, has been charged with:</h3><ol><li>Assault with a Weapon</li><li>Three Counts of Possession of Firearm Contrary to Order</li><li>Discharge Firearm with Intent</li><li>Reckless Discharge of a Firearm</li><li>Conspiracy to Commit an Indictable Offence</li><li>Four Counts of Fail to Comply with Probation</li><li>Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm</li><li>Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm</li><li>Possession of a Prohibited Firearm</li></ol><p><strong>Eathan GUSTIN-GROLLEMAN</strong>, 29, of Hamilton, has been charged with:</p><ol><li>Assault with a Weapon</li><li>Three Counts of Possession of Firearm Contrary to Order&nbsp;</li><li>Discharge Firearm with Intent</li><li>Reckless Discharge of a Firearm</li><li>Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle</li><li>Failure to Stop after an Accident</li><li>Operation of a Motor Vehicle while Prohibited</li><li>Possession of Proceeds of Crime Over $5000</li><li>Conspiracy to Commit an Indictable Offence</li><li>Fail to Comply with Probation Order</li><li>Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm</li><li>Possession of a Prohibited Firearm</li></ol><p>Both suspects are currently in custody on unrelated matters.</p><p>Hamilton Police continues to work diligently to ensure the safety and security of our community. Evidence was later found on May 20, 2024, confirming shots had been fired shortly before midnight on May 17, 2024. Enhanced patrols have been deployed in the area to ensure community safety and gather further evidence.</p><p style="margin-left:0px;text-align:start;">Hamilton Police are urging residents in the area with security cameras to review footage from May 17 and May 18 for any unusual or suspicious activity. Motorists who were in the area during these times and have dash cameras are also requested to check their recordings for potential leads.</p><p style="margin-left:0px;text-align:start;">Detective Matthew Dugdale of the Shooting Response Team is leading the investigation.                         <guid>https://hamiltonpolice.on.ca/news/update-police-arrest-drive-in-fatal-fail-to-remain/</guid><pp:caseid>570475</pp:caseid><description><![CDATA[<p><span>Hamilton Police Service have arrested a 44-year-old man of Hamilton in relation to a fatal Fail to Remain collision.</span></p><p><span>On Thursday April 13, 2023, shortly after 9:30p.m., a Yamaha motorcycle was northbound on Upper James Street approaching Twenty Road.&nbsp; The motorcycle, carrying a driver and a passenger, collided with a southbound Toyota SUV.</span></p><p><span>The passenger was thrown from the motorcycle and later pronounced dead in hospital.&nbsp; The motorcycle driver was transported to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries. The 17-year-old male was transported to hospital with serious injuries. <p><span><span><span><span><span><span><span>On Sunday, March 22, 2020, at 12:15 p.m. the Hamilton Police Service Collision Reconstruction Unit attended a single motor vehicle collision on Miles Road near English Church Road. A 28-year-old male driver lost control of his vehicle and struck a metal guard rail on Miles Road south of English Church Road that resulted in fatal injuries.</span></span></span></span></span></span></span></p>

After reviewing all the evidence gathered, no criminal charges will be laid.</span></span></span></p>

<p><span><span><span>On Saturday, May 16, 2020, shortly after 12:00 p.m., Hamilton Police Reconstruction Detectives investigated a collision involving a Kawasaki motorcycle and a Cadillac Escalade SUV. The collision occurred at Upper James Street and Fennell Avenue. The rider of the motorcycle was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. He later succumbed to his injuries.</span></span></span></p>

<p><span><span><span>Through continued investigation, detectives have determined speed and impairment were contributing factors in the collision. As a result, there will be no charges laid against the driver of the SUV.</span></span></span></p>

<p align="LEFT">Shortly before 11 p.m. on Friday, February 22, 2019, Hamilton Police were dispatched to the area of 394 Barton Street East (between Smith Avenue and Leeming Street) for a shooting that had just occurred.</p>

<p align="LEFT">Patrol officers responded quickly. One 23-year-old male and one 26-year-old male were conveyed to hospital, each suffering from a single gunshot wound. Both males are currently listed as stable with non-life-threatening injuries. The 23-year-old male is currently in police custody.</p>

<p align="LEFT">The Hamilton Police Major Crime Unit and the Make Safe Shooting Task Force are investigating this matter, it has been determined that this is a targeted shooting.</p>

<p align="LEFT">Area residents and business owners in the area with video surveillance cameras are requested to check their systems for any suspicious people or vehicles between 9:30 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. on Friday, February 22, 2019 - Particularly in the area of Barton Street East between Smith Avenue and Leeming Street, and on Smith Avenue between Barton Street East and Cannon Street East.</p>
