Hamilton Police are asking for the public’s assistance in locating 35-year-old Matthew Jordan O’Keefe.

On November 25, 2024, staff at the Hamilton Wentworth Detention Centre discovered they had release O’Keefe in error on November 22, 2024. O’Keefe was scheduled to appear in a Hamilton Court on November 26, 2024, but he failed to appear.

On August 10, 2024, O’Keefe was arrested by Hamilton Police while in a motor vehicle in the area of King Street East and Quigley Road. He is facing CDSA charges, possession of property obtained by crime and unauthorized possession of a firearm. He also had 12 outstanding warrants from Toronto Police Service.

Hamilton Police are searching for two males wanted in connection for recent shootings in Hamilton.

Shooting at Market St and Hess St

On June 23, 2024, at about 5:00 a.m., Hamilton Police were dispatched to an alleyway in the area of Market St and Hess St for reports of a shooting.  The victim reported a verbal argument between himself and the accused.  A brief verbal dispute occurred in the alleyway which resulted the accused firing one shot at the victim.  The shot missed and the victim fled unharmed.  The investigation determined that a single round had been fired in what is believed to have been a targeted shooting.

The Shooting Response Team has continued the investigation and can announce an arrest warrant has been issued for 44-year-old Kevin Johnson of Hamilton. He is wanted on the following charges:

• Possession of a loaded prohibited firearm.
•  Knowledge of an unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
• Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
• Assault with a Weapon
• Discharge a Firearm with Intent 
• Fail to Comply with Release Order -2 counts
• Possession of a Firearm contrary to Order – 3 counts

Shooting at Peddles Bar

On August 24, 2024, at about 11:45 p.m., a shooting occurred outside of Peddles Bar located at 1490 Barton Street East. Just prior to the shooting the victims and Cunningham are observed in a minor physical altercation.  The accused briefly left the altercation, but returned a short time later from inside the bar and shot the victims at close range.

As a result of this shooting, two individuals were taken to hospital for serious but non-life-threatening injuries. At the time of the shooting, the patio area of the bar was filled with patrons.

An arrest warrant has been issued for 22-year-old Gary Patrick Cunningham from Beeton, Ontario. Cunningham is wanted on  the following charges:

• Discharge Firearm with Intent X2;
• Aggravated Assault X2;
• Possession of a Prohibited Loaded Firearm;
• Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm;
• Reckless Discharge of a Firearm.

Hamilton Police are actively searching for Faizan Ali, a 24-year-old male who has been convicted in connection with the death of a motorcyclist on Monday, May 17, 2021. Faizan has been sentenced to 11 years for multiple convictions, including:

• Four counts of Failure to Comply with Release Order
• Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking a Controlled Substance
• Two Counts of Possession of a Loaded Firearm
• Two Counts of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm
• Unauthorized Possession of a Prohibited Weapon
• Occupant of Motor Vehicle Knowing there was a Prohibited Weapon

Faizan was released pending sentencing but failed to appear in court to receive his sentence. Hamilton Police are now seeking to locate and arrest him to serve his prison term. Additionally, Faizan is wanted for:

• Two Counts of Failing to Comply with Probation

Hamilton Police are looking for 29-year-old male, Quincy Owen Francis.

Francis is wanted in connection with a series of residential entries where he entered residences while homeowners were sleeping. As a result of an ongoing investigation, a warrant has been issued for his arrest.

Francis is currently facing the following charges:

• Break and Enter, Theft X2
• Theft of Motor Vehicle

He is described as a black male, 6’5, 187 lbs. His appearance may have changed since the photo was taken. Francis is known to be in the Hamilton area, but also has ties to the surrounding municipalities.

On Sunday, June 16, 2024, Hamilton Police were called to 22 Parkside Drive in the City of Hamilton for an incident which is currently being investigated by Provincial Animal Welfare Services as they are the agency who investigate animal cruelty in Ontario. 

Sometime between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. on June 19, 2024 individuals broke into 22 Parkside Drive and stole the occupant’s dog - a medium sized black dog named Buster.  The entry itself was captured on video by the perpetrators and then widely shared on social media. 

Shortly after 7:00 p.m. Hamilton Police were called to the area of Bond Street North at Norwood Road for a street disturbance.  The occupants of 22 Parkside Drive had attempted to return home and were prevented from doing so when confronted by a group of people, one of whom threw a water bottle at the female’s face.  This incident was also captured on video and shared on social media. 

Hamilton Police Forensic Services Branch responded and Division One Detectives have taken carriage of both the Break & Enter and the Assault with a Weapon investigations.

As a result, 29-year-old Natasha Trask has been identified as one of the individuals responsible for the entry to the residence.  She has also used the name “Natacha Sopravvissuta”.  Both Natasha and her 33-year-old boyfriend Shawn Running had possession of Buster following the offence. 

Warrants have been obtained for them both.  The investigation into the identity of other person’s responsible for the Break and Enter and the Assault with a Weapon continues.

Hamilton Police have issued another warrant for the arrest of 23-year-old Alexander La. He has been connected to the May 13 daytime shooting in the area of Cannon St and Kinrade Ave.

A previous warrant was issued for 25-year-old Malcolm Davis of Hamilton. Davis was identified as the Nissan motor vehicle driver that exchanged gunfire before fleeing the scene and crashing. Davis then fled the scene on foot. He remains outstanding.

The other party involved in the shooting was seen on CCTV firing a gun in an alleyway at the Nissan, then firing more shots on Cannon St. This suspect has been identified as Alexander La.

• He is facing the following offences for the May 13 incident:
• Reckless Discharge of a Firearm – s. 244.2(1)(a) of the Criminal Code
• Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm – s. 91(3) of the Criminal Code 
• Knowledge of an Unauthorized possession of a Firearm – s. 92(1) of the Criminal Code
• Possession of Firearm contrary to Order – s. 117.01(1) of the Criminal Code
• Fail to Comply with Probation Order X 2 – s. 733.1(1) of the Criminal Code
• Possession of a Prohibited Firearm – s. 95(1) of the Criminal Code
• Discharge Firearm with Intent – s. 244 (1) of the Criminal Code

La is also wanted for an incident on May 30.

Hamilton Police have issued a warrant for the arrest of a Hamilton man considered armed and dangerous.

On Thursday, May 30, 2024, at approximately 8:30 p.m., Hamilton Police were dispatched to a disturbance located at 175 Hunter Street West in the City of Hamilton.  Multiple 911 calls were received that two males were in the hallway trying to break into a residential unit, and that they had firearms. A female victim was in the hallway screaming and covered in blood.

Upon arrival, officers located a woman in her 40s with a significant laceration on her forehead, caused by being struck with a firearm. The victim was quickly transported to a hospital, treated for non-life-threatening injuries, and subsequently released.

During the incident, a woman in her 70s intervened to help the initial victim. In response, the male suspects robbed the woman of her cell phone, resulting in a minor injury to her.

These two males then fled the apartment on foot.

Divisional Detectives are continuing to investigate this incident. 

Detectives are announcing they have identified one of the two suspects involved in this matter, 23-year-old, Alexander La of Hamilton.

La should be considered armed and dangerous.  Police are asking that you call 911 immediately if you know of his whereabouts, or if he is observed in the community.

La has been charged with the following offences in relation to this incident:

• Robbery with a firearm
• Assault with a Weapon
• Forcible Confinement
• Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm

Solomon was arrested after being observed by police during a criminal investigation in Hamilton’s downtown core. Unaware that he was wanted, officers attempted to make the arrest before Solomon fled. He was pursued and eventually apprehended. At that time, officers discovered Solomon was wanted for an earlier shooting in Hamilton and a suspect in a Waterloo homicide.

On Monday, July 22, 2023, at approximately 11:30 p.m., Hamilton Police responded to a disturbance call in the area of King Street West and Caroline Street North for multiple people fighting in a parking lot. Upon arrival police discovered evidence of a shooting. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries from the incident.

Solomon is scheduled to appear in bail court this afternoon.

Hamilton Police have identified the two suspects involved in a collision on Eastport Drive that left two women seriously injured.

On Monday, December 4, 2023, shortly before 8:00 a.m., a three-vehicle collision occurred on Eastport Drive. The collision involved a 2024 white Volkswagen SUV, a black 2010 Nissan and a 2015 white Honda.

Two individuals associated with the Volkswagen quickly fled the scene. A bystander intervened, offering assistance, but the pair entered the rear seat, informing the driver they had a firearm, and instructed the driver to transport them to the area of Mead Avenue and Tate Avenue in Hamilton.

Two individuals from the Nissan were taken to the hospital with severe, life-threatening injuries, while the driver of the Honda was transported with significant but non-life-threatening injuries.

Police have identified the two individuals that fled the scene as, 31-year-old man from Brampton, Moyowa Omoniyi and 25-year-old female from Brampton, Tiana Edwards. A warrant has been issued for their arrest for the following charges. 

Omoniyi has been charged with; 

• Two counts of Dangerous operation cause bodily harm
• Two counts of Failure to stop after an accident resulting in bodily harm
• Fraud over $5,000
• Possess a counterfeited Mark
• Identity fraud
• Possess, use, traffic credit card
• Use forged document
• Robbery with a firearm
• Two counts of Fail to comply release order

Edwards has been charged with:

• Robbery with a firearm

Tevahn Orr is considered armed and dangerous and actively evading police.

Tevahn Orr is also wanted on a Canada-wide warrant for First Degree Murder with the Edmonton Police Service and  wanted by Toronto Police Service.

Hamilton Police Service and York Regional Police continue to seek the public’s assistance in locating wanted person Daniel Tomassetti in relation to two homicides.

On Tuesday, March 14, 2017, Mila Barberi was shot and killed as she stood by her vehicle in the parking lot in Vaughan, Ontario.  Her boyfriend was also shot and survived. Her murder was linked to Angelo Musitano, who was shot and killed in Waterdown Ontario on Tuesday, May 2, 2017.  

The linkage resulted in a multi-jurisdictional investigation between Hamilton Police, York Regional Police and the Hamilton-Niagara detachment of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. As a result of the investigation, dubbed Project SCOPA, an arrest warrant was sought for Daniel Tomassetti in connection with these murders and attempt murder.

The Hamilton Police Service Board has a $50,000 cash reward for information leading to the arrest and/or conviction of Daniel Tomassetti. Hamilton Police have apprehended 348 outstanding wanted individuals over a six-month project resulting in numerous arrests, seizure of weapons including firearms, property, illicit drugs and more.

In April 2022, the Hamilton Police formed Project KORA which encompassed multiple units from across the service and was designed to hold individuals committing offences accountable.

Over the six-month period there were 348 wanted individuals arrested and 104 new charges laid. In total, police seized 267 grams of Fentanyl, 5.5 grams of methamphetamine, 16 grams of cocaine and illegal oxycodone pills. Investigators also seized numerous prohibited weapons such as a hatchet, brass knuckles, knifes, a pellet gun, a firearm and over $4,800 in Canadian Currency which was proceeds of crime.

“We know outstanding wanted individuals have a significant impact on Hamilton’s crime and are associated with violence in our community” says Hamilton Police Service Superintendent Mark Stiller.

Hamilton Police are looking for a 23-year-old male fugitive, Devante Skye-Davis.

He is from the Hamilton area and is still believed to be within Hamilton.

Devante Skye-Davis was charged with Manslaughter in relation to the shooting death of Myah Larmond in July of 2020. Skye-Davis is currently wanted by Hamilton Police for two counts of failing to comply with his release order.

Devante is described as:

On Monday June 27, 2022, at approximately 10:30 p.m., Hamilton Police located a female victim who had been involved in a disturbance in the area of Main Street East and Fairleigh Avenue South in the City of Hamilton. 

The female had sustained a non-life threatening gunshot wound. Detectives have positively identified the shooter as 18-year-old Marques Griffiths of Hamilton.  A warrant has been obtained for his arrest for numerous firearm related offences. 

Marques Griffiths is described as a thin black male with short dreadlocks approximately 5 ‘7 and weighing 130 pounds.  He should be considered armed and dangerous.  At this time, his whereabouts are unknown.  If seen, Hamilton Police are asking the public not to approach GRIFFITHS and call 9-1-1.

On Monday, June 20, shortly after 7:15 p.m., Hamilton Police responded to the area of Sherman Avenue and Biggar Avenue for an entry into a locked commercial compound after two suspects were observed on video by security.

The suspects were confronted by the on-site security guard, eventually resulting in them fleeing the area prior to police arrival.

As officers arrived on scene, a perimeter was set up and with the assistance of the Canine Unit, the suspects were located and arrested without incident.

Wright had her bail opposed, as there were warrants for Wright with both Hamilton Police and with Halton Regional Police. Hughes was subsequently released on an Undertaking.

Hamilton Police are asking for public assistance in locating the suspect wanted in a shooting earlier last week.

On Sunday, June 12th, 2022, at approximately 4:30 p.m., Hamilton Police responded to a shooting in the area of Hess Street North and Market Street in Hamilton. Two males sustained non-life threatening gunshot wounds and several vehicles were damaged.

With the assistance of the public, Hamilton Police have now positively identified the shooter as 21-year-old Alexander LA of Hamilton. A warrant has been obtained for his arrest.

LA is described as male, Asian, 5’9, 154lbs with long black hair. He should be considered armed and dangerous. At this time, his whereabouts are unknown. 

If seen, Hamilton Police are appealing to the public not to approach LA and call 911.

On Friday, April 8, 2022, shortly after 2:00 a.m., Hamilton Police responded to Upper Wentworth Street for a pedestrian struck on the roadway. Police learned that a 42-year-old Hamilton man was struck by a vehicle travelling south in the southbound lanes. The involved vehicle did not remain at the scene and the male passed away a short time after he was struck.

Through continued investigation detectives believe Omar BATAINEH, 34-years-of-age was operating the suspect vehicle at the time of the collision. His current whereabouts are unknown and an arrest warrant has been issued. He is currently wanted for Fail to Remain Causing Death under the Criminal Code of Canada.

Hamilton Police are asking for assistance in locating a 43-year-old high risk offender who went missing yesterday.

On December 23, 2021, Hamilton Police received information regarding a male who was at large and is considered to be a high risk offender. McLean Casey was convicted of criminal offences in 2004 and is presently not abiding by a Detention Order. Casey was last observed in downtown Hamilton yesterday morning.

Casey is described as a male, black, 5’9”, 265 lbs, with short curly black hair. He was last seen wearing a black winter coat, tan pants, and a black toque.

At approximately 10:22 p.m. on Monday, February 8, 2021, police received several calls for the sounds of gun shots in the area of King Street and Grant Ave in Hamilton. Officers attended the area and located a scene at a neighbourhood gas station, where shell casings were found on the ground.

Investigation revealed that there had been a dispute between two male customers at the gas station and the incident was captured on surveillance video. One of the males pulled out a firearm and shot at the other male as he drove away. The victim was not injured and has not cooperated with Police. The vehicle occupied by the shooter has been located.

Hamilton Police have arrested 59-year-old Angelo Graci from Hamilton, for the homicide of Michael Ivo White in December 2020.

Graci was arrested without incident on January 20, 2021, in the area of Upper James Street and Rymal Road and charged with first-degree murder.

An arrest warrant has also been issued for 29-year-old Angelo Miller from Hamilton. If you see Miller, please call 911 immediately.

On Monday, December 21, 2020, a 20-year-old male was wounded and suffered non-life-threatening injuries as a result of one of the incidents. Following the initial assault, shootings were reported in a rural area and at three separate residences over the next few days.

As the investigation progressed, it became clear that each of the individual incidents were closely related. With the assistance of specialized units, uniform officers and cooperation from members of the community, four males were identified. Two individuals were located and arrested. A third male was already in custody.

On Thursday, January 14, 2021, the males were charged with several firearm-related offences. An arrest warrant has been since issued for the fourth male who is a youth.

It is important to note that three of the individuals responsible for these violent offences are young persons and as such, cannot be identified.

Through investigation, a male was identified.

On Monday, December 14, 2020, a Canada Wide Arrest Warrant was issued for Jared MacLeod. With the assistance of the Calgary Police Service, MacLeod was located and arrested on Friday, December 18, 2020.

As a result of an assault investigation that occurred over the weekend, an arrest warrant has been issued for 29-years-old Angelo Miller from Hamilton. He is considered armed and dangerous, if seen do not approach, contact 9-1-1.

On Sunday, December 13, 2020, the Hamilton Police Service became involved in the investigation of a violent assault that occurred during the night between December 12 and December 13. Based on the details obtained and evidence collected, police formed reasonable grounds to believe that Angelo Miller held a victim against her will and assaulted her with a weapon. Investigators believe this was a targeted attack.

On December 14, 2020, a search warrant was executed at the unit belonging to Angelo Miller, located at 825 Concession Street in Hamilton.

While the injuries sustained by the victim are considered to be serious, they are not considered to be life-threatening.

Investigators are aware of the proximity between the two recent incidents that occurred in the area. They continue to investigate to determine if there are any connections.

In the early morning of Tuesday, November 24, 2020, Daniel Gagnon was arrested without incident. His matter was addressed at the John Sopinka Courthouse later in the day. Hamilton Police would like to thank the community for their assistance with the investigation.   

Daniel Gagnon, 28-years-of-age, from Hamilton is wanted in relation to an armed street robbery. If you see him contact 911 immediately, do not confront him.

On Thursday, October 22, 2020, at approximately 5:30 p.m., a male in his early 50’s was exiting a residence in the area of Main Street East and Myrtle Avenue. He was approached by a male who was in possession of a handgun. The male demanded he hand over his possessions. The suspect left the scene with the victim’s bicycle and other personal items. The victim was not physically injured and the suspect is not known to him.

The Central Division Criminal Investigation Branch has continued to investigate the incident. The suspect has been identified as Daniel Gagnon from Hamilton. A warrant for his arrest has been issued by the court system and it is believed he is aware of the warrant and is actively evading police.

The Hamilton Police Service is seeking the public’s assistance in locating a male who is believed to be responsible for several violent offences.

On Monday, June 1, 2020, the Hamilton Police Service investigated allegations made against Nathanial McCoy. The information detailed events that were targeted and transpired over a period of several months. At the conclusion of the investigation, an application for an arrest warrant was granted by the court system.

Hamilton Police are looking for an armed and dangerous male that threatened a short term rental property manager when he fired a shot into the ceiling before leaving.

On August 9, 2020, three males arrived at a short term rental on Aberdeen Avenue in Hamilton. Within a short time, there were complaints from other residents that they were causing a disturbance. The property manager attended to evict them. One of the males pulled out a shotgun and pointed it at the property manager and then fired into the ceiling, damaging a light fixture. All males then exited and no one was hurt. They were seen driving away in a grey SUV, possibly a Toyota.

The alleged shooter in this incident has been identified and is now wanted for various firearms offences, including the reckless discharge of a firearm, point firearm and various other offences relating to this incident.

The Hamilton Police Service is seeking the public’s assistance in locating a Hamilton man who is believed to be responsible for committing several commercial entries in early February.

Through continued investigation, detectives from the BEAR Unit have identified Matthew CAMPBELL-LEWIS, 31-years-of-age as the suspect in a series of commercial entries. The incidents occurred between February 4th and February 6^th this year, where over $5000 in property was stolen from secured compounds. Detectives have also identified a stolen vehicle used during the incidents, it has since been recovered.

Police believe CAMPBELL-LEWIS is aware there is a warrant for his arrest and he is currently evading apprehension.

CAMPBELL-LEWIS is described as male, white, approximately 6’0 tall, 187 lbs. He has several tattoos including the word ‘Irish’ and a four-leaf clover on the right side of his neck along with the word ‘Cancer’ and the number ‘69’ on the left side of his neck.

The investigation of a suspicious vehicle resulted in the arrest of a wanted party along with the seizure of a substantial amount of illicit drugs.

On Wednesday, February 12, 2020, at approximately 8:00 a.m., police received information about a suspicious vehicle that was idling near the intersection of Hunter Street and Caroline Street South. The vehicle had been there for several hours. Once on scene, police located a male driver sleeping inside a black Hyundai Accent. The male was woken up and verbally identified himself. Through investigation, police learned an arrest warrant existed for the male with another police agency. The male was arrested on the strength of the warrant and searched. During the search, police located a large quantity of crystal methamphetamine and cash in his possession. A search of the immediate area around the driver’s seat revealed he was also in possession of additional illicit drugs.

The male was taken into police custody and appeared at the John Sopinka Courthouse yesterday. The drugs, cash and other evidence were lodged for future court proceeding purposes. Police believe the street value of the methamphetamine is $45,000.

Hamilton Police are looking for wanted person, Jamie Dryden, in connection with a shooting in Hamilton on January 31, 2020. He is considered armed and dangerous. Dryden is known to be highly transient and has ties throughout the country.

On January 31, 2020, shortly before 10:00 p.m., Hamilton Police responded to a suspicious male in the area of Barton St East and Ottawa Street North. As Officers arrived, the suspect fled on foot. As Officers pursued after the suspect, he brandished a firearm and fired multiple gunshots in the direction of Officers.

Officers continued to chase after the suspect and as they caught up to him, he positioned a female between himself and the Officers to deter his arrest. He was last seen in the area of Britannia Avenue.

On February 6, 2020, Hamilton Police identified the suspect and issued a warrant for his arrest.

Police have issued an Arrest Warrant for a Hamilton man involved in a variety store Robbery which sent a person to the hospital with multiple stab wounds.

On Tuesday, December 31, 2019, shortly after 10:00 p.m., Hamilton Police responded to a commercial robbery at the “Extra Variety Store” located at 1110 Cannon Street East in Hamilton.

Three suspects robbed the store of merchandise. The cashier working behind the counter suffered multiple stab wounds and transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Police have identified Grayson Robert Aylesworth as one of the suspects and a warrant for his arrest was issued on January 3, 2019.

Aylesworth is of no fixed address and known to stay at local shelters. If you see him please consider him to be armed and dangerous.  Please do not approach and call 9-1-1 immediately.

On December 4, 2019, Hamilton Police charged a male with the sexual assault of his in-home personal support worker.

On November 28, 2019, Hamilton Police Sexual Assault Unit was notified that an adult female personal support worker was sexually assaulted. The accused solicited care from an in-home personal support worker who was then sexually assaulted. As a result of the investigation, police believe there may be other victims.

On Tuesday, December 3, 2019, shortly before 8:00 p.m., Toronto Police Service officers responded to a Toronto east end address for a wanted party. Once at the residence, Daniel McDermott was identified as wanted with the Hamilton Police Service for a shooting incident in November 2019. He was arrested without incident and later turned over to the custody of the Hamilton Police Service.

McDermott appeared in court today to answer to the following charges:

Hamilton Police are looking to identify a male involved in an indecent act at a local library.

On November 26, 2019, shortly after 10:15 a.m., an unknown male attended the Sherwood Public Library on Upper Ottawa Street in Hamilton and committed an indecent act. The male was inside the library standing by a window when his actions were observed by a citizen. The witness reported the incident to the library staff, but the male had already left the area.

Police are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying this suspect or witnesses to the offence.

Police have selected a photo from the library surveillance video in hopes of identifying the suspect.

Through further investigation, police have linked this male to three other break-ins that occurred on the Hamilton Mountain, between November 14 and 18, 2019. In each of these incidents, no one was home at the time of the break-ins.

WANTED: Daniel Joseph Whalen (45-years) of Hamilton

CHARGES:

• Break and Enter with Intent x 3
• Robbery x 2
• Break and Enter Commit x 2

Police are appealing to the public for any information as to WHALEN’s whereabouts. Police consider him armed and dangerous and are advising the public to call 911 immediately if seen and not to approach him.

Suspect Description:

• White male, 45-years of age
• 5'10" tall and 180lbs, medium build
• Unshaven, hazel eyes, grey blond hair which is short on the sides and a ponytail on top
• Heart tattoo on the back of his right hand

On August 28, 2019, shortly before 11:00 a.m., police responded to a 911 call from a resident on Brigade Drive in Hamilton. The victim indicated there were two unknown males inside the home and feared for their safety.

Police arrived and arrested one male on the scene but the second armed male escaped. A local school was placed into a hold and secure at the time.

On November 13, 2019, shortly after 4:00 p.m., Hamilton Police located the outstanding male suspect getting into a vehicle near his residence in Grimsby and placed him under arrest. The weapon was not recovered.

Charged: Mason HOOD (20-years-old) of Grimsby Ontario

Charges:

• Break Enter Commit Robbery
• Use Imitation Firearm Commission of Offence
• Fail to Comply with Undertaking
