The City of Hamilton Enjoyed a Safe Saint Patrick’s Day

Hamilton Police had a zero tolerance approach to the Saint Patrick’s Day events in the McMaster University student housing and Westdale area. This kept festivities in good order.

Hamilton Police worked closely together with City By-law, Alcohol Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO), Hamilton Fire and McMaster Security to ensure Saint Patrick’s Day festivities in the Westdale area was kept under control.

This was a pro-active team approach, deploying members from support services, community mobilization and patrol on the streets which prevented house parties and alcohol-related behaviours from escalating in the McMaster student housing and other areas of the city.

Infractions Encountered Westdale and McMaster Area

  • 17 Provincial Liquor tickets
  • 11 Licensed establishments inspected
  • 1 Impaired Operations
