Trespasser Arrested with Drugs and a Weapon

Hamilton Police continue to investigate incidents of theft from automobiles in an east-end neighbourhood. Recently, two males were identified, arrested and currently face numerous charges related to several vehicle entries. Yesterday two other males were investigated for trespassing and one was taken into police custody on criminal charges.

On Wednesday, August 21, 2019, shortly before 10:30 a.m., Hamilton Police received information about a trespasser in an underground parking lot at a residence in the area of Melvin Avenue and Parkdale Avenue North. The male trespasser was previously warned not to return to the residence by property management.

Police attended the scene and located two males in the lot. Through investigation, police learned the male who was warned earlier, was wanted by Hamilton Police. That male was placed under arrest and when searched a prohibited weapon along with illicit drugs and drug paraphernalia were found.

The 34-year-old man, of no fixed address, was taken into police custody and is scheduled to appear in court today.

The second male was released after being warned not to attend the property in the future.

No vehicle entries were reported to police in relation to this incident.
