On Saturday, December 29, 2018, shortly before 12:00 pm, Hamilton Police responded to reports of gunshots and a male walking with a shotgun in the area of Limeridge Road West and West 5th Street in the City of Hamilton.

The investigation revealed a local resident hosted a party the night before and during the party showed several firearms to guests in attendance. The male ran outside with the shotgun and fired another round into the driveway. After discarding the firearm in the same general area, the male ran to a neighbouring residence for help. No injuries were sustained as a result of the incident.

With the assistance of the Canine Unit, the discarded shotgun was located. Police arrested two males at the scene, and subsequently executed a search warrant seizing 15 firearms and various rounds of ammunition.
