Hamilton Police continue to investigate a stabbing incident that occurred on Thursday, December 28, 2018, in a downtown Dollar Store. Shortly after the incident, the suspect attended police headquarters and surrendered.

A 38-year-old Hamilton man has been charged in relation to the incident. 

The victim, a 66-year-old Norfolk County man is currently hospitalized in critical but stable condition. Police continue to monitor him.

At this time police believe this to be a random incident as the victim and accused had no prior history.

The investigation continues as police look to determine the events that transpired prior to the assault.
