UPDATE: Charges Laid Against Hamilton Man in South Service Road Fatality

The Hamilton Police Reconstruction Unit has concluded their investigation involving a fatal motor vehicle collision on the South Service Road in Hamilton. A Hamilton man has been charged and expected to be in court on September 19, 2019, to answer to these charges.

On Tuesday, July 30, 2019, shortly before 7 a.m., police responded to a motor vehicle collision involving two motor vehicles on the South Service Road at Green Road in Hamilton.

A dark coloured 2016 Nissan sedan was travelling eastbound on the South Service Road towards Green Road when it struck a grey Fiat from behind. This collision caused the lone 60-year-old man to be fatally injured. The 32-year-old Hamilton man driving the Nissan sustained minor injuries.

On August 16, 2019, police charged the driver of the 2016 Nissan with Dangerous Operation Causing Death and Criminal Negligence Causing Death.
