Wanted Party Arrested in Possession of Weapons and Drugs

A Hamilton Police Officer on proactive patrol recognized a wanted party riding his bicycle. The male party was arrested and while being searched police discovered he was in possession of illicit drugs and two weapons. He will appear in court today to answer to the warrant and additional criminal charges.

On Wednesday, January 16, 2019, shortly before 2:00 p.m. Hamilton Police were on proactive patrol when their attention was drawn to a cyclist who was travelling northbound on Victoria Avenue near Barton Street. The officer recognized the cyclist as a wanted party from 2017. The cyclist was arrested and during the search police discovered he was in possession of illicit drugs and a weapon. Police seized the evidence and took the cyclist into custody.

A 26-year-old Hamilton man will appear in court later today to answer to the charges and the outstanding warrant.
