Witnesses Alert Hamilton Police to Suspicious Male Inside Vehicles

Hamilton Police assisted residents in the area of Clinton Street when they called to report a suspicious male stealing property from vehicles. Police located the male on Sherman Avenue North with stolen property and burglary tools in his possession. A Hamilton man has been charged with several theft and possession offences.

On January 10, 2019, shortly before 8:00 p.m., police were called to the area of Sherman Avenue North in Hamilton to investigate a suspicious male being followed by citizens. The witnesses identified seeing the male enter a vehicle on Clinton Street and take personal items from the car and leave.

A short distance away police located and identified the male. He had in his possession burglary tools, stolen property from Clinton Street and property from an earlier vehicle entry from the Wentworth Street North area of Hamilton.

A 35-year-old Hamilton man has been charged and released on a Promise to Appear in court on February 7, 2019.
