Young Student Approached by Unknown Male

Hamilton Police Service is reminding students to walk in pairs when travelling to and from schools and to take steps to ensure their continued safety after a student was approached by an unknown adult male.

On Thursday, October 18, 2018, a nine-year-old girl was walking to school at Sir Wilfred Laurier Elementary School located at 70 Albright Road in the City of Hamilton.

At approximately 8:45 a.m., a dark coloured four-door vehicle, pulled alongside of the young girl and rolled down its passenger window. A male driver leaned across and offered the girl a lollipop if she would get into his vehicle. The young girl then ran to school to report the incident.

Driver description:

  • 50-years-old
  • Dark bushy moustache and a wrinkly face
  • Wearing a light grey sweater and a black baseball hat
  • Possible East Indian accent

The vehicle is described as black, four-door, possibly a Honda, with dark windows and two scratches to the front passenger door.
