Youth Arrested for Possession of Firearm

A 17-year-old Hamilton male appeared in court today after a firearm; ammunition and a prohibited weapon were seized in his residence this morning.

Hamilton Police remain committed to addressing illegally possessed firearms in our community. After receiving information regarding illegal activity surrounding a residence in the area of Garth Street and Limeridge Road West, in the City of Hamilton, the Division 30 Heat and BEAR Unit initiated an investigation. In the early morning hours on Friday, May 31, 2019, members of the Emergency Response Unit executed a search warrant at this residence.

A 17-year-old male youth was arrested. During the search, police located a pump action shotgun, a replica pistol, ammunition and a prohibited weapon. The male was taken into police custody. He appeared in court today to answer to several weapon-related offences.
