The Youth Services division of the Hamilton Police Service is responsible for establishing, implementing and monitoring policies pertaining to youth crime. They also monitor the service’s response to youth crime to ensure consistency of dispositions.

The unit acts as a liaison with other agencies and other parts of the justice system regarding effective youth service delivery. They attend courses and seminars, read appropriate material and conduct research activities to develop expertise in youth crime.

The Youth Coordinator is responsible for devising, co-coordinating and delivering training programs and presentations to members of the Hamilton Police Service and act as a resource to senior management in relation to youth crime.
