For Immediate release:

Three young males woke up to find their laptops, IPad and cell phones stolen from their apartment while they were sleeping.

On February 10, 2018, just after 9:00 am, police attended 57 Forest Avenue in Hamilton to investigate a break and enter report.  The three young males woke up shortly after 7:30 am and noticed someone had entered their apartment and stole several thousand dollars’ worth of electronic equipment. Included in the stolen property was an IPhone.   The officer and resident decided to use the IPhone tracker app and quickly noticed the phone was still located within the building. Police walked outside the apartment and headed down to the lobby area. The tracker signal was strong, so the Officer decided to try calling the phone and a green garbage bag sitting next to a female in the lobby started to ring.  Police approached the female and she could not provide any reasonable explanation on why the garbage bag was ringing.  Police located the phone and the stolen property inside the garbage bag.

A 35-year-old female from Hamilton was placed under arrest and charged with Possession of Stolen Property under $5000.  The female was released on a Promise to Appear in Court.  The court date is set for March 8, 2018 at John Sopinka Court House.
