Update: Arrest made in Stabbing Incident at Downtown Mosque

Hamilton Police have arrested a male in relation to a stabbing at a downtown Hamilton Mosque.

At approximately 2:15 p.m., Hamilton Police received reports that several individuals had been stabbed after an altercation at the mosque. The altercation started outside the location and continued inside the building. One person was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries and the other was treated at the scene. A third victim showed up at the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Two suspects fled the area in an unknown direction. There were conflicting reports whether it was one or two separate vehicles. Upon further investigation, it was determined that the second suspect was not involved. 

The suspects and victims were known to each other. The investigation led detectives to an address on the Hamilton Mountain, where 40-year-old Abdullah Alkhlif from Hamilton was arrested and charged with the following:

  • Aggravated Assault
  • Assault Cause Bodily Harm (x2)
