Four Youths Arrested Following Stolen Vehicle Investigation

On Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at approximately 8:30 p.m., members of the Hamilton Police Division 30 H.E.A.T. Unit observed a white Audi sedan travelling at a high rate of speed northbound on Upper Gage Avenue near Edwina Place. Investigation revealed the vehicle had been reported stolen.

The vehicle came to a stop in front of a residence on East 44th Street. Due to the dark tint on the windows, officers could not initially identify the driver or occupants. Officers moved in and safely boxed in the vehicle from both directions.

Three male youths were taken into custody at the scene. A fourth male fled on foot but was apprehended shortly after a brief foot pursuit. During the arrest, officers located a can of bear spray in the driver-side door of the vehicle.

All four individuals, ranging in age from 14 to 17, were arrested and charged with:

  • Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
  • Possession of a Prohibited Weapon

One youth sustained minor injuries to his feet during the foot chase and was transported to hospital by EMS as a precaution. All individuals were processed and later released to the care of their guardians, with appropriate notices provided.

The vehicle was towed and secured, and the registered owner was notified.

Hamilton Police would like to thank community members for their continued support and encourage anyone who witnesses suspicious activity to report it immediately. Our commitment to youth accountability and public safety includes diversion opportunities where appropriate.
