Hamilton Police have arrested one youth and are searching for another suspect after a large disturbance took place on the Hamilton Mountain.
On Wednesday May 28, 2025 at approximately 2:00 a.m., officers were dispatched to a home in the area or Upper Paradise and Stone Church Road after receiving multiple calls regarding a large fight.
Police learned that a 15-year-old male from Hamilton had attended the residence in a stolen vehicle and forced entry into the home. He began discharging bear spray which affected the family within, including a 9-month-old baby. The youth then produced a knife and assaulted four family members resulting in minor injuries. The family eventually forced the two suspects out of the home and held one down until Police arrived.
The youth was arrested and charged with the following:
- Assault with a Weapon x 4
- Administering Noxious Thing with Intent to Cause Bodily Harm x 4
- Break and Enter
- Fail to Comply with Release Order x 4
- Fail to Comply with Youth Sentence x 7
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime under $5000.00
Officers are still searching for a second suspect. He was described as a white male wearing all black clothing. Police are appealing to homeowners in the area to check their CCTV cameras for anything that may help identify the suspect.
