Hamilton Police are searching for a suspect after a vehicle jacking in east Hamilton.
On Monday June 2, 2025 at approximately 5:00p.m., Hamilton Police officers observed a minor motor vehicle collision occur near the intersection of Main Street East and Tuxedo Avenue. A red Toyota Camry had collided with a black Toyota Highlander and both vehicles remained on scene.
The officers approached the vehicles to render aid; however, the driver of the red Toyota Camry proceeded to flee on foot. The Suspect ran to the intersection of Main Street East and Kenilworth Avenue where he then opened the door of an idling grey Toyota Highlander and removed the driver. He then conducted a U-turn and fled northbound on Kenilworth Avenue North in the newly stolen vehicle.
On June 3, 2025, the stolen Toyota Highlander was located vacant in the area of Belmont Avenue and Roxborough Avenue. Police are asking residents in the area to check their CCTV cameras for anything suspicious.
