Hamilton Police Seek Suspects in Distraction Thefts

Hamilton Police are investigating two distraction-style thefts and are seeking the public’s help in identifying three suspects.

  • Incident #1: On May 17, 2024, the same suspects followed a victim from Sobeys (1770 Stone Church Road East) to her home in Stoney Creek, where they distracted her and stole her purse.
  • Incident #2: On April 29, 2025, a victim was followed from the TD Canada Trust at 991 King Street West. The suspects distracted her and stole cash from her vehicle.

 

  • Suspect 1:
    Female, light complexion, brown hair tied back, seen wearing a dark top with a white-collared shirt underneath.
    Appears younger, possibly in her 20s–30s.
  • Suspect 2:
    Male, medium-to-light complexion, balding or closely shaved hair under a dark baseball cap, grey shirt.
    Appears to be in his 40s–50s.
  • Suspect 3:
    Female, medium-to-light complexion, brown or auburn hair in a ponytail, often seen wearing large sunglasses and a dark jacket.
    Appears to be in her 40s–50s.
