Hamilton Police have arrested two male youths, aged 11 and 15, following an investigation involving two stolen vehicles originally reported missing from a rural property in West Lincoln.
On the morning of June 16, 2025, Niagara Regional Police responded to a report of a break and enter and theft of two motor vehicles—a white 2015 Chevrolet Silverado and a white 2015 Jeep Cherokee. Entry had been forced into a detached garage and vehicle keys were taken.
Later that day, Hamilton Police received multiple calls regarding the stolen Jeep Cherokee being driven erratically in the area of Barton Street East and Gage Avenue North. Additional reports described suspicious behaviour at a local gas station and Eastgate Square Mall, where two youths were seen attempting to access the vehicle’s gas tank and carrying what appeared to be a BB-style handgun.
By mid-afternoon, police located the stolen Jeep Cherokee and executed a high-risk stop near Kentley Drive and Nash Road. The 11-year-old and 15-year-old suspects were arrested without incident. A search revealed identification belonging to a third-party victim believed to have been stolen earlier that morning. Officers also seized a small quantity of marijuana.
Charges include:
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5,000
- Theft Over $5,000
- Theft Under $5,000
- Fail to Comply with Undertaking (x2)
Due to his age, the 11-year-old was released unconditionally to a parent. The 15-year-old remains in custody pending a court appearance.
