New Video Released of Missing Person John Edwards

Hamilton Police have received new information on the disappearance of 62-year-old John Edwards, a vulnerable adult last seen leaving St. Joseph’s Villa on June 11, 2025 around 9:15 a.m.

Over the past several days, officers and community partners have conducted extensive ground searches and reviewed hours of surveillance footage in an effort to retrace Mr. Edwards’ movements and locate him safely.  Investigators have positively tracked Mr. Edwards through various locations in Dundas throughout the morning of June 11.  His movements included frequent stops, seemingly to pick up items from the ground, and lacked a clear destination. 

At approximately 9:57 a.m., Mr. Edwards was observed walking westbound on the north side of Baldwin Street, passing the McDonald’s at 10 Cootes Drive. He then proceeded northbound on Main Street, followed by westbound on King Street, passing Memorial Square at 10:14 a.m.  John turned south onto John Street and then seen on camera walking west on King Street at Peel St at 10:39 a.m.

The most recent sighting, confirmed today through newly obtained video footage, shows Mr. Edwards at 3:10 p.m. on June 11th at the Esso Station located at 947 Centre Road. He is seen walking southeast on Centre Road toward Waterdown Village, crossing the road, and continuing westbound through the Esso parking lot to Concession 6, where he proceeds southwest along concession 6.

Recent surveillance image and video from June 11 is attached to assist the public in identifying Mr. Edwards.

Description:

  • White male
  • 62 years old
  • 5’11”, approx. 214 lbs
  • Shoulder-length brown hair and brown eyes
  • Walks with a slight shuffle
  • May be carrying a small, light-coloured ball in his hand
  • Last seen wearing baggy shorts, a striped blue T-shirt, white socks, running shoes, and possibly a ball cap

Hamilton Police continue urge residents, especially those in Dundas, Flamborough & Waterdown to:

  • Check all properties, including sheds, garages, porches, and outbuildings
  • Review any security, doorbell, or dashcam footage from Wednesday, June 11th
