On June 19, 2025, the Hamilton Police Crimes Against Seniors Unit arrested and charged a support worker who was employed with Community Living Hamilton, a not-for-profit organization that assists people with developmental disabilities.
From December 15, 2022 to January 16th, 2025, Pamela Ellis, a 44-year-old female from Hamilton, was providing care for multiple vulnerable residents of Community Living Hamilton. During that time, Ellis was able to gain access to the residents’ bank accounts for the purposes of assisting them with their finances. In that time, Ellis diverted more than $277,000 from the residents’ accounts into her own personal use.
After a lengthy investigation, officers arrested and charged Ellis. She will now go before the courts for the following charges:
· Fraud Over $5,000
· Possession of Property Obtained by Crime over $5,000.
