Hamilton Police are conducting a search in rural Flamborough for missing person John Edwards.
Edwards last seen on June 11, 2025. Surveillance confirms he was walking southbound near 908 Milgrove Side Road and Cummingsville Drive in rural Flamborough at 4:08 p.m.
An active command post has now been set up at Millgrove United Church located at 370 Concession 5 W as officers and search teams conduct another ground search of the area.
Since John was reported missing on the morning of June 11, HPS has launched an exhaustive and coordinated effort to locate him. This has included:
- Immediate deployment of search teams in the Dundas area
- Deployment of Public Order Unit (POU) and Ground Search and Rescue (GSAR) specialists
- Aerial and FLIR thermal imaging support, including assistance from the Fire Department
- Patrol officers on foot, bike, and mounted units, cadet and special constables engaged in the search
- Thorough video canvassing and surveillance review across the regions
- Vetted and investigated an extensive amount of public tips, including out-of-town sightings, one of which was in Milton that yielded no results.
Recent confirmed surveillance footage has shown Mr. Edwards travelled further than initially believed, making his way on foot into rural Flamborough. His movements appear unpredictable, and he is not carrying a phone, ID, or money, which severely limits tracking options.
At this time, there is no indication of foul play, but due to the recent extreme heat and Mr. Edwards' cognitive vulnerabilities, the risk to his wellbeing is significant, and the situation remains deeply concerning.
