Hamilton Police launched Project Barrier to address aggressive and predatory tow operators in our city.
As a result:
- 39 charges were laid
- 10 tow licenses were suspended or revoked
- 9 operators were charged
- 4 companies were banned from operating
Charged businesses include:
- Provincial Roadside Services
- High Class Recovery
- Onsite Towing
- Royal Roadside
- Recovery Reliable Towing
These businesses are no longer welcome on Hamilton roads.
What you need to remember at the scene of a collision:
- You choose the tow operator
- Ask for a written estimate before anything is moved
- Confirm where your vehicle is going
- Do not sign anything you do not understand
- Call police if you feel pressured or unsafe
