Hamilton Man Arrested After Drug Trafficking Investigation

The Hamilton Police Service Major Drugs and Gangs Unit (MDGU) has made a significant arrest following an ongoing drug trafficking investigation involving a Hamilton resident.

On July 31, 2025, Detectives with the MDGU and Division 2 HEAT Unit located and arrested the suspect near Main Street East and Wellington Street South. The arrest was made without incident with support from the Emergency Response Unit (ERU).

Following the arrest, search warrants were executed at two residences:

  • Gage Avenue North and Barton Street East
  • Main Street East and Spring Street

The searches resulted in the seizure of:

  • A loaded 9mm handgun
  • Approximately 24 grams of cocaine
  • Approximately 680 grams of fentanyl
  • Approximately 19 grams of crystal methamphetamine
  • Hundreds of hydromorphone pills
  • Over $7,000 in Canadian currency

As a result, 33-year-old Jesse Schnarr of Hamilton has been charged with the following offences:

  1. Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine, Fentanyl, Methamphetamine, Hydromorphone
  2. Possession of a Prohibited Loaded Firearm
  3. Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm
  4. Possession of Proceeds of Crime Over $5,000
  5. Possession of a Firearm Contrary to Court Order
