On Friday August 22nd, 2025, shortly after 5:00pm, Hamilton Emergency Services were dispatched to intersection of Maple Avenue and Grosvenor Avenue, for a report of a motor vehicle collision involving a single vehicle and a pedestrian operating an electric scooter.
The operator of the electric scooter, a 62-year-old female from Hamilton, was transported to hospital, but has since succumbed to her injuries.
The HPS Collision Reconstruction Unit has been called in, and has taken carriage of the investigation. The affected intersection of Grosvenor Avenue and Maple Avenue will be closed for investigators to perform their duties.
Anticipated time of road closure is approx. 4hrs.
At this time, the police are actively seeking any potential witnesses to this incident, and urge anyone with information to come forward. Investigators are also requesting any motorists in the area at the time of the collision to check their dash cameras, as well as residences or businesses in the area with surveillance cameras to review their camera footage.
