Crime Managers play a crucial role within the Hamilton Police Service. Crime Managers are the primary liaison between our communities, political leaders and front line patrol officers in designated geographical areas. With the exchange of information, crime managers are able to develop intervention strategies, involve the patrol officers in their sectors and resolve community issues before they become more serious.

They have regular communications with officers within their assigned division as well as with the Divisional Inspector and Superintendent, sharing issues related to crime patterns, community problems and offering guidance / direction to officers interested in developing divisional initiatives and projects.

Crime Managers are also supervisors in the Community Response Unit which oversee constables assigned to senior support, youth diversion programs, crime analyst, school liaison, community service, station reception officers, divisional traffic safety, and HEAT.

How can a Crime Manager help You?

Crime Managers will assist with non-emergency related community complaints. These may include issues relating to your neighbourhood, property, business, parking or any other community problem that may require long-term consideration.
Please note that Crime Managers do not take reports over the phone. Front line patrol officers will generally respond to an immediate concern and a referral to a Crime Manager will be made for prolonged matters.
