On October 17, 2018, Cannabis will be legalized across the country. The new Cannabis Acts create strict frameworks outlining who can control, produce, sell and possess cannabis. Hamilton Police Service will continue working to create safe and healthy communities for everyone – making sure the new laws are applied and our roads are safe.

Drug Education

Illegal drug use can have major negative effects. This is not only on the user but their family, friends and community. Drug education is important for children, teenagers and adults. This is why Hamilton Police Service aims to promote a healthy, drug-free lifestyle.

What is Cyber bullying?

Cyberbullying is generally defined as sending or posting harmful or cruel messages or images using the internet or other digital communication device.

• Each child is created in the image of God, and every person must be treated with respect and dignity.  Every Catholic child has the right to be safe and feel respected in and around the school
• Bullying shall not be tolerated on school property, at school-related activities, on school buses or in any other circumstance (e.g. online) where engaging in bullying will have a negative impact on the school climate

School Boards have policies on bullying and how bullying within the schools and within the Board are handled.
