This program was a one day even in which participants spent the day at the ALTITUDE High Ropes facility at McMaster University. Officers took fifteen young people from the YMCA Newcomers Youth Club to the facility and engaged in a number of leadership and trust building activities.

The young people hail from Ethiopia, Sudan, Iraq, Angola, Somalia, Eritrea, Saudi Arabia and Kenya. Many of them have had negative experiences with police and this event is part of a wider initiative by the Hamilton Police Service to engage with new immigrants to Hamilton.

The course is designed to encourage co-operation and leadership. The young people spent the day climbing obstacles which gradually get more difficult. To succeed everyone including police officers had to learn to help each other.
