One Person Deceased Following Three-Vehicle Collision on Lincoln M. Alexander Parkway

Hamilton Police are investigating a fatal three-vehicle collision on the Lincoln M. Alexander Parkway that claimed the life of a 24-year-old woman.

At approximately 6:56 p.m. on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, a blue Honda Civic was travelling eastbound on the Lincoln M. Alexander Parkway near Upper James Street when it collided with a red Buick Allure towing a small utility trailer.

Following the initial collision, both vehicles lost control. The Honda Civic crossed the grass median into the westbound lanes, where it was struck by an oncoming tractor-trailer.

The 24-year-old female driver of the Honda Civic, who was the lone occupant of the vehicle, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The Buick was occupied by a driver and one passenger. Neither sustained injuries. The driver of the tractor-trailer, who was the sole occupant of that vehicle, was also uninjured.

The Hamilton Police Collision Reconstruction Unit has assumed conduct of the investigation and is working to determine the circumstances surrounding the collision.

The Lincoln M. Alexander Parkway remains closed in both directions in the area of Upper James Street and is expected to remain closed for several more hours while investigators complete their examination of the scene. Motorists are asked to avoid the area and use alternate routes until the roadway can be safely reopened.

Hamilton Police extend their sincere condolences to the victim's family and loved ones as they cope with this tragic loss.

Investigators are asking anyone who witnessed the collision or who may have dash camera footage from the area around the time of the collision to contact the Hamilton Police Collision Reconstruction Unit at 905-546-4753.

Further information will be released as it becomes available, as appropriate.
