Hamilton Police have identified a 15-year-old wanted in connection with the deaths of two Hamilton teenagers on Candlewood Drive.
On July 29, 2026, at approximately 2:25 a.m., police responded to a residence at 191 Candlewood Drive following reports of shots fired.
Officers located 18-year-old Abdulmalek Shibli and 16-year-old Afef Binafif suffering from gunshot wounds. Both were transported to hospital, where they later died.
Two families are grieving the loss of Abdulmalek and Afef. Investigators remain focused on locating the person responsible and ensuring they are held accountable.
As the investigation has progressed, Hamilton Police have obtained an arrest warrant for 15-year-old Rahziel MARTIN of Hamilton.
MARTIN is wanted for:
- Two counts of Second-Degree Murder
- Four counts of Attempted Murder Using a Firearm
Hamilton Police have received judicial authorization under the Youth Criminal Justice Act to temporarily publish MARTIN’s name and photograph for the purpose of locating and arresting him.
This authorization remains in effect until MARTIN is arrested or 11:59 p.m. on August 4, 2026, whichever occurs first.
Upon MARTIN’s arrest, Hamilton Police will immediately advise media outlets and the public that further publication or transmission of his name and photograph must cease. If he has not been arrested before the authorization expires, all identifying information and images must be removed no later than 11:59 p.m. on August 4, 2026.
Investigators are urging MARTIN to seek legal advice and turn himself in to police.
Anyone who knowingly assists MARTIN in avoiding arrest may also be subject to criminal charges.
