Hamilton Police are investigating a shooting believed to have occurred in or around Gage Park on Friday, August 14, 2026, at approximately 7:00 a.m.
Police learned of the incident on Saturday, August 15, after receiving information that an individual had sustained a gunshot wound the previous day.
Investigators have confirmed that an adult male sustained a non-life-threatening gunshot injury. He received medical treatment and has since been released from hospital.
The exact location and circumstances of the shooting remain under investigation. The Shooting Response Team is asking anyone who was in or near Gage Park on Friday morning and witnessed suspicious activity to come forward.
Investigators are also seeking dash camera, residential security or cellphone video recorded in the area around 7:00 a.m.
